I don't believe in #mcm because I don't need #mcm. There is no 7-day-schedule of our love. There is no rhyme or reason to why two completely opposing personalities could be so similar and so perfectly fit for one another. Married on a Friday. Date nights on the town are on Wednesdays. (Sometimes.) Date nights IN are on Fridays. (Most of the time.) Movie nights involve random streaming commentary from one side of the the bed or the other, homemade popcorn, and tangled legs. I work at random; he works weekdays. I cook; he cleans. He comes home tired from the job; I offer up food, a beer, a massage. I laugh loud and easy; he's a tough egg to crack. I'm abstract, he's linear. I have too much hair; he has none. There is no crushing, no wishing or pining for each other. Just furious and impenetrable and pure love. No fuss, just fun. Arguments flare and we quickly smother them with ridiculousness. Marriage isn't sexy. But Marriage is the greatest and most challenging adventure one could ever endure. Every day I choose him. Every day he stands in as my adventure partner. Each day is a new opportunity for me to prove my adoration and respect for this man. I surrender and submit to my husband just as he loves me and serves me unconditionally because Marriage is a beautiful sacrifice full of rich rewards when done right. Our story isn't complicated...that implies that it is difficult to understand. It is complex, certainly, but of everything I have experienced, of every person I have met in this lifetime, he is the one thing that is so easy to understand....He is me. And I, him. Simple. One day of the week is too small for something as true and as logical as US. Love is bigger than that. #RhetoricalRedhead
