Tie Guan Yin from @white2tea type 2! Wow. My overall impression is that it reminds me of excellent quality Taiwanese gaoshan! This tea has a thick and creamy cauliflower purée like base, it is vegetal with hints of steamed greens. It is the most bitter of the 3 teas so far, but that turns to beautiful sweetness with hints of pear and apple. The hui gan is intense with a great mint cooling in the throat, and a sticky throatiness. The texture of the tea is silky and smooth, and you can feel it the whole way down. I’m salivating long after drinking the tea. Overall this is a return to the sort of tea Origin Tea got me so excited about, a greener type of oolong that you can push hard for a great tasting tea. Traditional Tie Guan Yin from @white2tea club, type 3. Obviously greener than type 4, from the browning around the outside of the leaves I would assume this is an unroasted but slightly oxidised style of TGY? This is very floral, it has a fruit sweetness (maybe pineapple-like?), a vegetal base that is slightly creamy, a medium-thick body. A nice hui gan, a slight minty note in the back of the mouth and as described by white2tea, a sticky throatiness. Overall impression is this is a greener variety of tea, its got a fruitier sweetness (over the synthetic and honey sweetness of type 4), it’s got a slightly creamy vegetal base (over the toasty, more creamy type 4) and it’s very floral. The tea is brighter, juicier, more crisp. One point to note, these are very smooth considering the high leaf/water ratio and quite floral nature... suggests some good quality tea I think, along with the generally tastiness and complexity 😂 #white2tea #white2teaclub #tea #cha #club #oolong #wulong #oolongtea #china #chinese #tasty #yummy (at Dublin, Ireland)
