About a year ago, I just finished lunch at school and was standing on the sidewalk, and all of a sudden, a teacher called out loud. "If anyone wants to see a soft shelled turtle, come over to the back of the golf cart." Now, never seen or heard of a softshelled turtle, and I'm a curious person by nature.....and you know what happens after that. Came over, crowd of people oooooing and aaahhhhiiinnnnggg, I was short, and pushed through the crowd. I looked down, and was greeted with the sight of this little guy. He looked lost, and was looking up with that look that said. "Where the hell am I!?" "What are this huge, pale, giants looking at me weirdly?!" It was cute, and so cool looking, but I felt so bad for the little guy. The teacher said she found it walking across the sidewalk, and didn't want to risk it being stepped on, so she put it at the back of the golf cart. I got to feel the shell, and I never knew turtle shells could be so soft. Also, he got freaked out, and began to run toward the safety of the corner and man, I never knew turtles could be so fast! It was a great experience. But anyway, when the bell rang, the teacher who found it decided to take it to the neighboring pond, which was where it most likely came from, but nonetheless, my first time seeing a soft shelled turtle!!!!
