Repost from @platinumgrille. The second generation of Vipers, running from 1996 to 2002, was the only generation of the Viper Not to have side-exit exhaust. The claim was that Dodge couldn't get the car to pass emissions with the shorter side pipes using the technology at the time (though I'm sure there were budget constraints too). Having the exhaust exit in front of the rear suspension allows for a lot of room to be freed up at the back of the car that can be used for other things. Only problem is that the platform needs to be wide enough to fit the pipes, mufflers, and catalytic converters on the sides without impeding passenger space. According to Edmunds.com, the 5th Generation Viper is 0.6 inches wider than a 2018 Dodge Durango. đ¤đ¤đ¤#TheMoreYouKnow Wheels: 20x10 & 20x12 @forgeline #CF206 Carbon+Forged in Transparent Smoke đēđ¸đēđ¸đēđ¸ @wheelsperformance @wheelsgram @dodgeofficial @tikore #Viper #ViperTA #Dodge #SRT #Chrysler #FCA #Orange #Forgeline #WheelsPerformance #Nitto #Invo #thatsmydodge #becauseracecar #car #carsofinstagram #forgeline #forgelinewheels #forgedwheels #customwheels #carbonfiber #carbonforged #6Lug #notjustanotherprettywheel #doyourhomework #madeinUSA #đēđ¸
