Repost from @platinumgrille. United States Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108, enacted in 1986 on cars and light trucks in 1994, requires every vehicle to have a dedicated red brake light, mounted high in the center of a vehicle. This is to provide other drivers with a unambiguous visual indicator that the brake pedal has been pressed. This is called the Center High-Mounted Stop Lamp, or CHMSL (pronounced "Chimsel") for short. Due to a lack of rear glass space, or the shallow angle of the glass, every Gen 2, 4, and 5 Viper's CHMSL comes in the form of the rear Viper logo that lights up when the brakes are applied. This allows for maximum rearward driver visibility on account of not having to have a brake lamp housing hanging down in the rear view mirror. And you thought it was just a gimmick! ๐๐๐ Also, this is the first pic inside Forgeline's shop, getting the very first set of CF206 carbon fiber wheels mounted. 20x10 and 20x12, with Transparent Smoke centers. ๐บ๐ธ๐บ๐ธ๐บ๐ธ @forgeline @tiregram @wheelsgram @wheelsperformance @tikore @dodgeofficial #Viper #ViperTA #SRT #Dodge #Chrysler #FCA #V10 #Forgeline #CarbonFiber #CF206 #Tikore #Titanium #6Lug #Orange #BecauseRaceCar #Car #carsofinstagram #SaveTheManuals #Nitto #Invo #FMVSS #CHMSL #Stryker #thatsmydodge #NHTSA #forgelinewheels #forgedwheels #customwheels #carbonforged #notjustanotherprettywheel #doyourhomework #madeinUSA #๐บ๐ธ
