Interview with Marcel and Antonio
whats live? will go online on August 17, 2015. I am really curious about what it is and already ready to ask some questions about this new brand. So, today I am sitting here with Marcel Raab and Antonio Duarte, Project Managers of whats live?, aiming to get more familiar with what live?.
                Interview with Marcel & Antonio
What is âwhats live?â exactly?
Marcel: whats live? is actually a lovely baby of Antonio and me. (laugh)
Antonio: I donât really think what you said is wrong. (smile)
Marcel: Now seriously, itâs a live stream magazine on the internet. Simply said - It works like a TV magazine: Producers go to whats live? and announce the details of their live streams. Viewers visit whats live? to find out when and which event will take place on which website.
How did the idea of âwhats live?â come into existence?
Antonio:Â I have been so excited about webcasts for years. For me, it is so convenient to watch live streams, because you are able to get access to various events all over the world just in front of the computer! However, I noticed that, in many cases, people donât know which event will be live streamed online, not to mention when and where.
Marcel:Â Thatâs true. Today, there is so much information on the internet that people canât really browse through all of it. So we were considering it may be enormously helpful, if there would be a list, which offers an overview about the coming webcasts with their time and URL.
Antonio:Â And in view of producers, they may have hardly promoted their own live streams, but without an orientation in the infinite internet, the viewers canât always find the webcasts, which they are interested in. Therefore, we also want to help the producers to reach a larger audience.
How did this idea become reality?
Marcel: The core of our project is our website www.whatislive.com, of course. We have been working hard for several months, so that we can present our users a good-looking, clear-structured, and the most important, well-functioning online platform, as of the website launch on August 17. Furthermore, we have been very active on social networks since 2 months ago. We use these social media platforms to inform our users and other people about the news by whats live?, and to communicate with them, too. In addition, we have several explanation videos on our YouTube channel, so that people can know more about us, also in a visual way.
Who is the target group of âwhats live?â
Antonio:Â In principle everyone! As mentioned, both live streaming producers and viewers. We want to bridge the gap between producers and viewers, giving both sides the possibility to find each other in the infinite Internet.
What makes âwhats live?â so special, when compared to other similar online services?
Marcel: In my opinion, whats live? is a cross-category live stream magazine. Itâs not only about music, not only about gaming - You can discover various live events on whats live?.
Antonio:Â And whats live? serves as an intermediary between viewers and producers. Although we donât live stream any event on whats live?, but we donât limit ourselves to publish events only from one company or from one country. Live stream producers from all over the world, no matter companies or individuals, are kindly welcome to use whats live?.
Can you now imagine how would âwhats live?â look like in a year?
Marcel:Â (laugh)Â I think we should first concentrate on the website launch on August 17!
Antonio: Absolutely - We still have enough to doâŚ
Marcel: But to be honest, I really hope that both producers and viewers would like whats live? and can really benefit from our service. Of course, it would be really nice, if they would like to introduce whats live? to many other people.
Antonio:Â At the moment, we are trying our best to do everything as well as possible. I firmly believe that we will achieve that goal, if we keep on working hard on whats live? and always thinking for our users.
Will you use âwhats live?â for yourselves as well?
Antonio:Â Yes, for sure! I myself have a band and we give several concerts every year. If our concerts are live broadcast on the internet, we would announce them on whats live?.
Marcel:Â As a baseball player, I will also use whats live? to attract more viewers for our games.
In a few days, âwhats live?â will go officially online. How are you feeling now? Are you ready?
Marcel: Excited. Itâs great to see that whats live?, with our hard work for several months, will get finally started next week.
Antonio:Â To be honest, a little bit nervous as well. I just hope, everything goes well and users will love whats live? as much as I do.
Best of luck! And thank you very much for this interview.
