it happened a similar thing to me too and yes i felt pretty bad for some months but after a while i just started saying to myself i was over it, and in the end im like 90% over it (it remains a bad memory sadly but whatevs). Idk, hope this helps

thank you. it is helpful. i know i'll get over it, but it just sucks in friendships (and otherwise) when feelings aren't reciprocated and it doesn't help this person is someone i've known longer than anyone else. it's just frustrating to not know why they don't want any contact with me cause i have no earthly idea. and now i wonder if they were just fake as fuck all the times i thought we were having fun hanging out. i know people say that losing friends and all is a part of life but i have so few irl friends it's a blow to lose one over what seems like literally nothing?? idk i'll be upset about it a while but i guess why should i be upset over someone who doesn't want me in their life
