I only need to make about 40 more of these 😱 I’m really enjoying the hand sewing. It’s a bit like knitting when you find your groove 😊 In other news, I’m picking up my #whateverquilt from the longarm quilter tomorrow. I’m so excited! The only thing left to do on it will be the binding, and I still haven’t made up my mind which fabric to use. I’ve seen all my blocks into rows; next I need to tackle joining the rows. I’ve gone a little off piste and am putting sashing between my blocks. I’m really happy with how it’s looking. I spoke to a longarm quilter yesterday as I think I’ve bitten off more than I can chew in terms of the quilting 😳 This will be about 7’x7’- a bit ambitious for my first serious quilting project! I collected my quilt today 😎 Sylvia of #whitegablesstudios has done a fantastic job with the quilting. I’m still trying to decide what to do for the binding. The backing won’t work I think. It looks quite flat next to the warm colours of the quilt. It’s actually brown and cream, but is showing up grey in the 2nd photo. I have some jelly roll strips that I can use, maybe sew them into a strip set, then cut them into a border strip? I don’t know if that will make the binding too bulky.
