William Lloyd Wharton. Died 1867. Creator of Wharton Park in Durham. I'd not visited before today even though the bus goes past it just before getting to the bus station. A pleasing place. With play areas. Good planting. And some views across the city from above the railway station. Today was a day to wander along paths and roads I'd not seen before.
