BALITANG INTERNASYONAL: Electrical Transformer batters down in North Texas, while local Storm Chaser reporter in Texas witnessed to blow up uncontrollably [#OnlyOnOneNETnews]
PLANO, TEXAS -- The Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area suffered extensive damage in history due to a severe storm that struck North Texas on Tuesday morning (Central U.S. local time). Breaking above high winds of 70 miles per hour (mph), leading to overturned vehicles, broken power lines, and even collapsed structures. Emergency sirens alerted residents of the incoming storm as they remained on guard witnessing a tornado watch for an extended period of time.
Amongst the chaos, ABC-affiliate WFAA-TV Channel 8 reporter 'Natalie Haddad' was on location in Plano City in Collin County, who witnessed the storm's impact. Haddad was at the intersection of Dallas North Tollway and Windhaven Parkway when she saw multiple electrical transformers intermittently implode, giving an astonishing sight against the storm clouds that late at night. These storms revealed to the American journalist acting as a part-time storm chaser at night, where the dangers of working under such conditions, which, in case you were wondering, is what they call active storm chasing in the United States.
Severe storms caused massive disruptions across the area. Flooding was generated in its building when Plano West Senior High School (PWSHS) in Plano City lost some of its roof structure. In the residential area, strong winds first demolished power utility structures and then caused havoc by scattering materials around. The Enhanced Fujita (EF)–1 Tornado in Irving was responsible for the destruction of multiple apartment structures and the subsequent evacuation of more than 350 local and regional residents. These individuals, who earlier on and after the storm had their homes obliterated, are now being accommodated in emergency shelters.
Haddad gave LIVE coverage of the unfolding North Texas storm while showcasing the dangers the storm posed to some of the local news crew members in the field reporting the storms on foot. Her coverage just goes to show how amazing the dedication of journalists is in the midst of severe emergencies.
As for the residents, they need to be cautious during what can extend to weeks to months of cleanup given that authorities have warned of the exposed power lines and destroyed cooperative and electrical company structures. The impact is a strong reminder and serves to highlight, both the need for preparation in advance and the power of communities in dealing with natural disasters.
