I just can't help but wonder where were!Bilbo keeps the Ring when he's transformed- maybe he has like a pouch around his neck for essentials or keeps it on a necklace chain and it hides in his fur?
I like to think maybe Radagast or someone spelled up a pouch with a strap that grows so it wont choke him out when he shifts, which gives him a place to put the ring, sting, and his clothes and it’s the best thing ever and totally not a plot device at all shut up
OK so about your wolfbo au, what if later on in his and thorin's relationship (like they both lived after the battle and everything and are living together) Thorin picked up a habit that anytime Bilbo was getting stir crazy, he'd throw a fucking ball and bILBO WOULD CHASE AFTER IT JUST IMAGINE THAT.
