allison stood in front of the building lydia's vision had shown them. they'd managed to track it down after a lot of work and time spent on google maps, but nothing had prepared them for how decrepit it would look in person. she took a deep breath and reached over to give her friend's hand a squeeze. "i wouldn't dream of letting you go in there alone. i've got your back." she was well armed, and ready to use them if the situation called for it. there wasn't supposed to be anything alive in there, but they were rarely lucky enough to find only a dead body, if that could even be considered luck. "whenever you're ready."

she mentions him and you turn around to look in his direction, just to see him look away. it is a new feeling, really, how your heart seems to beat faster and slower at the same time, something fluttering in your stomach. it has been this way since you met him. you thought it had been because he was looking at you and talking to you without judgement, but it seems to be so much more than that. it is confusing, everything about being human is. except how happy you feel when you are near him. ❝ i don't know why he was looking at me. and it has nothing to do with that. ❞ a beat. ❝ okay, maybe a little. but romeo and juliet does seem like a ridiculous story anyway. why didn't they just leave? so much drama. i hate drama and complications. ❞ after all, your life is hard enough without a boy occupying your thoughts.
