@everdawn. finnick shrugged his shoulder, not able to meet katniss' eyes. things were different. he wasn't the reckless fourteen year old kid who had won his games anymore. hell, he wasn't even the mentor that he'd been for years. finnick had a life now. he had annie. he couldn't stay in panem the way it was, not when snow still stood and had full control of his life. ❝ you have to know it's more than that, katniss. ❞

maddie wasn't even supposed to be there that day . she had the day off and just so happened to be in the area of the incident while running errands . with way too many victims and not enough hands with the medical knowledge , she'd volunteered to help where she could . her hands remain pressed against the wound , keeping pressure on it . " sorry , i need to keep pressure to slow down the bleeding . " she nods at his question , gentle smile gracing her lips . " oh , yeah . sorry . you're going to be just fine . you may need to rest for a few days , however . how are you holding up ? "

@anxietytold. eddie had been hurt plenty of times. it was just par for the course with the job he did. being a firefighter, and before that, being in the military ... eddie didn't really understand what it meant to be safe. he'd always been at risk in some way or another. he was just grateful that it was maddie there to protect him. she was his best friend's sister, and he knew she'd take extra special care of him. ❝ don't apologize. you're making sure i'm okay ... you have nothing to apologize. ❞ he sighed softly when she asked how he was holding up. ❝ i've had worse. ❞

⸻ wallace's eyes narrowed at her as she spoke. they had just been fine mere days ago. hell, the blonde had even broken down his walls enough to even tell her that he loved her. something that he hadn't done in a long time. scared to lose the next person he told that he loved them. but with katy? god, he wanted everything with her and he thought they had been on the same page about it. "so you love me . . . but you don't want to be with me on something we don't even know will happen?" he asked incredulously, stepping closer to her. "we write our story, right? so we get to say whether we'll hurt each other or not."

@hcrv3lles. katy loves wallace. that's not something that's going to change any time soon. but if something was going to happen to him ... she knew she wouldn't be able to handle it. he's at risk every day, and even though she loves him and he loves her back? she's terrified. what if he died? what if he changed his mind? what if he realized he was too good for her and she was broken? it scared her, but as she looked at his reaction to her words ... she didn't know if she'd be able to push him away. ❝ i love you. ❞ she agrees, biting her lip as he moves closer, ❝ i just ... i'm scared. it's stupid, i know, but i'm scared. ❞

❛❛  yeah.  course  it  counts.  ❜❜      while  it  might  not  seem  like  much  to  some,  it  was  such  a  huge  change  from  when  they'd  first  met.  she  lifted  their  clasped  hands  and  looked  down  at  it.  what  a  difference  time  made,  she  thought  to  herself.  to  be  able  to  touch  karlach,  to  be  able  to  hold  her  hand  -  zara  could  only  hope  that  their  future  was  filled  with  a  bit  more  light.      ❛❛  what  do  you  want  to  do?  when  it's  all  over,  if  could  do  anything  or  have  anything  -  what  would  it  be?  ❜❜    

@soulwaned. karlach had never considered herself a softie. she knew she had a softer heart than most barbarians, and even softer than most people who worked for zariel ... but karlach knew that she didn't exactly fit the mold of those like her. but it was fine. ❝ anything? ❞ zara made karlach want things. she made her want things that she shouldn't ... because when this was all over and the engine exploded, it would all be for nothing. ❝ i just want to love and be loved. i don't think that's too much to ask for. is it? ❞

@heartsbreaking. charlie loved the idea of getting to explore a weapon she hadn't used before. she wasn't really the most social girl, but there was something about this that made her want to come out of her shell. she trusted the girls ( women, really, when you considered their immortality ) who traveled with artemis, and she trusted thalia not to let anything terrible happen to her. ❝ i'll be careful. ❞ she reassured thalia, offering her a smile before walking toward the field, ❝ blackjack will get over it ... he's always moody when percy isn't around. ❞

@anxietytold. rebekah licked her lips slightly as she kept her eyes on matt. she fed on humans all the time, that wasn't the issue here. the issue was feeding on someone she cared about. she could usually control herself ... but she was definitely afraid of going too far with him. she had to control herself in this. ❝ okay. ❞ and there's no more fighting it as she brings his wrist to her mouth, biting into the vein and beginning to drink. the neck was definitely her preferred source ... but this way she could watch him, make sure he was okay.

“damn straight.” arden muttered under her breath and bit her lip hard enough to draw blood. she understood being afraid of commitment or letting someone in. the same issues had come up in past relationships because she wasn't ready. but juliana was different — or at least arden thought that she was — and she'd expected them to be on the same wave length. “why would i ever say no?” chuckling, “like, when have i ever been able to say no to you? it’s not possible. i wouldn't stayed in a heartbeat. no questions asked."

@fcrtnite. arden was gorgeous, and she was amazing, and juliana was afraid that she wouldn't see herself in the right way. juliana watches arden as she speaks, listening to her and processing the words that the other girl is saying. ❝ i don't know. ❞ juliana admitted, rubbing the back of her neck, ❝ i guess i'm still scared that this isn't real. i know that's stupid ... but i can't help it. ❞

@heartsbreaking. lizzie kept her eyes on the older vampire. she didn't know what she was doing at all, and she was scared. the vampire side was completely new to lizzie and she didn't know what she was doing. ❝ i ... ❞ lizzie hesitates at theodosia's questions. she doesn't know specifically she needs help with. she just knows that she's struggling, and it's all too much. ❝ i think it's about all of it. i'm ... not good at this vampire thing. ❞
