what.. in the.. what??? im so confused???? like i understand everything but then why then are girls vanishing idk i ended up with so many more questions?? im coloring my questions also RIKA ok ok wait lets recap:

first i’m kind of sad that rika immediately accepted that her friend went away.. but that also made me wonder whats the logic behind only a few people to stay as stones?? where do they go?? how do they fade?? AND WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT MONSTER HA HA WHAT IS THE LOGIC and what does fucking frill have to do with it???

and also its wonderful how their expressions are So Damn expressing!!

Anyways Second we get the story and moving on the recap was sad.. my dude was hot before turning into a doll.. this story is literally “we made a monster”

it scared me that frill is an AI.. and the way they speak of her and her actions.. can she be considered human in such a case? what’s a human even arent they a machine that analyzes outside data? why would she turn out the way she did?

can an AI have emotions? if so how? considering AI works with logic i would have to assume that only logical emotions can be generated by an AI but frills actions were not ones made of logic.. i bet this is what they tried to research.. but then i dont get how dead girls come back to life or any of the fictional parts of demons or so and We Only Have One Ep Left..

now to get to the actual daughter and this is where my heart shattered and brain froze at the same time.. how why would an AI play with a real girl’s brain???? also their looks and expressions wow

functionalities:

a.. goddamn.. recap.. AGAIN.. they literally have a recap in the original run what is this mess of a studio and not even 10 mins they did a whole 25 mins recap.. my blood is boiling.. next and well most importantly the art is really bad and i get oh we shouldnt be so pissed at artists for the time frame but my god they had 3 months and the ep was literally 20 mins (cuz of the 25 mins RECAP) so what excuse? the backgrounds are mostly stupid no art just colors, and if u look more critically they have too many scenes from the back or far away.. there are bits with a weird place where neiru and ai stand? frill was literally added there for no reason? and even when they viewed neirus dream it was literally just a voice over 😭😭 we didnt EVEN GET TO SEE HER SISTER😭😭 im ah…… when ai threw the phone it was Literally Black Outside my god thats shit and the movement was shit. the last last like 5 mins were fine but honestly in comparison to what i know they can do (ep11 with frill) its just underwhelming to say the least. idk just watch it and tell me this isnt stupid and disrespectful. sheesh.

Storywise:

I dont mind the way neiru is an AI and I mean she alluded to this since long, however I guess there was a real neiru at one point??? how does she have a sister and the fact that we got ZERO explanation about that? also she isnt the type to just get up and leave did she trade herself/her life? wtf happened idk im way too confused.. like did frill take her? and we still didn’t get ANYTHING about how frill can even manipulate any of this no explanation about dot and hyphen nothing it literally answered nothing just made us weirded out by the friends suddenly deciding they arent that much of friends afterall!!

but what actually pisses me off is ai refusing the call.. You Want Me To Believe that????? IT MAKES NO SENSE completely out of character. ah yes the girl who she has been calling foe about a million times she Refuses her Call because?? she’s an AI? since when is ai that shallow? and rika’s reaction too? like that’s it? and she never even went back to neirus house? wtf its a complete and utter mess. ai just got her whole character arc demolished right in front of us. the stupidness of the ending that she transferred schools? for what? how did the friend with blonde hair travel through parallel worlds? neiru got her sister back but not her? they literally dropped story points from before…

we never got to see how rika and momoe got over their intense fears? they just did? had to? IDK ITS Shit and im beyond mad they did them dirty.. they were barely even mentioned and sidelined completely to fit this weird conflict about neiru that no one asked for.. literally the last of rika we see is her crying saying she’ll die of pain FROM THE BACK..

we dont see how they deal with their friends that they sacrificed so much for no longer knowing them.. we barely see any pain at all about that even and it gets also pushed to the side. even if lets say neirus story is worth exploring just explore it dont vaguely mention it and give no explanation and NO EVEN VISUALS for it but the shitty empty abstract place like wtf.. idk im sad yall

lastly they brushed the mf teacher to the SIDE like literally acting like he was nothing.. the whole story point of him was weird and unfitting honestly but i was fine with it because well they are kids and he is a bit weird but the dude didn’t exactly Do Something.. but alsooososososso the reveal of the Big Big Question right? the one of why did koito kill herself? and we get this stupid 2 seconds lines from the teacher saying she slipped and fell.. she.. slipped.. and fell.. and that she was threatening him which okey okey but.. she slipped.. let that sink in

final thoughts:

I feel robbed seriously.. wonder egg meant so much to me and I could see the potential it had so many right elements and seriously could’ve been great. exploring girlhood, pain, sewerside, relationships, friendships, love, unrequited love, gender issues, and much much much more. making such lovable characters then smashing them on the ground. idk what went on inside the damn studio im going to look now but i am gonna learn japanese just to send them a bullying letter for this. i appreciate all those that worked truly but i still think this is not the best that they can do im sure of it.

after watching ep10 of wonder egg priority i am now sure it will be one of my favorites forever. this anime gives such detailed, beautiful and honest character studies.. i’m going to review the whole thing once it’s over but for the time being ep 10 and momoe talk.

momoe’s identity is something of which she cannot reach. she can’t keep explaining herself to each new person she meets thus she eventually lets it slide when people misgender her. in a way then her identity becomes something that doesn’t blong to her.. she cant control it.. the amount of pain this actually gives her is massive yet momoe tries to hide it and ignore it.. cuz who would understand..

but now for the first time ever she sees it.. her pain reflected in someone else and how much of a pain it actually is.. she is seen as who she is.. without explanation..

without getting into how much the ending hurt and im still confused but.. to have such powerful stories, insisting that everyone matters and no pain is meaningless or trivial.. it hits hard. i cant wait to see how they will all grow and learn and the truth to be said.

extra note: i have to give it up for the art for being this insanely Gorgeous i mean absolutely mind blowing it delivers the feels and emotions and dimensions wow wow honestly

anyhow, momoe reminds us all to be proud of who we are and scream it to the world if we arent heard.. and i love that. ALSO SEE THAT COOL ASS JACKET WOW

okey what? happened??? what!!!! what?????? im so confused and well clearly there is a sequel of some sort.. but tbh and this is my Own Opinion.. as much i love this anime, i think they kinda reached too high. this episode felt like they suddenly were like oh Lets set the feeling of “the first part of the journey has now finished” so they can get more seasons and stretch out the journey.. which is what i Want but it felt so rushed and confusing tbh..

i’ll be colorcoding the things that bother me and my questions.

Lets dissect:

before the egg:

first my girlies meet again and its such a heavy and intense meeting.. beside the very gorgeous art i loved their choice of long shots when they are discussing, as it felt like their own private convo that we are listening to, and ofc the gloominess of these shots. then it jumps to momoe and ai close shot and it feels SO HEAVY.. anDD RIKA ISNT IN THE SHOT.. i think their positions represent their communication techniques.. and my girls really suck at communication.

momoe refusing to explain herself is weird to me.. but i think it was a lot on her. AI reaction was understanding tho but my god i wish they went after momoe and rika.. they need each other SO MUCH to face frill.. which begs the question.. WHYY didnt ai tell them about frill??? wtff???? what was the point of the last ep? and of ai knowing whats up if She Didnt Say Shit??! bruh.. idk

ai and the egg:

now we reached the part that i think really pushed it waaay too much.. ai cracks the egg and surprise surprise.. its her.. from a parallel universe......... long silence..... honestly that felt soooo sooo rushed and weird and out of plaaace.. and the fact that acca and ura acca immediately explained oh its “parallel universes” like excuse me? u were shocked neiru got her friend but oh Yes parallel universes are so normal.. doesnt that literally change SO MUCH?? that means Any past Egg could be a parallel universe one.. maybe their friends went there when they disappeared? does that also mean then frill exists in every timeline? thats very eh confusing..

i did tho love the growth ai went through.. i think they added a parallel universe ai to demonstrate to Us the viewers a real time comparison.. and to also tap into kioto’s death and give us a closure to it without ruining the fact that once people are revived they immediately disappear.. i believe giving us a truth with that restriction wouldv’e been impossible..

im also proud of ai.. a lot.. she also said maybe she doesn’t wanna know and she ended up partially putting it together on her own.. she also was so sure and confident of who she became and of her happiness, and her judgement on the sensei.. she didn’t let her otherself’s fears manipulate her opinion or change it.. and it all just shines through her with her yellow jacket just ♥︎♥︎

the third mess that is bigger than the first mess:

and then they go into the water and i cannot foer the life in me Tell u what what Hell Happened.. what??? all i got was: oh they defeated those doubts good for them.. ai got her conclusion good for her.. then she’s like “idk how to go to other universes YET but i’M gOinG to FiNd oUt and gO HelP yOu!! “like buddy thats waay too obvious that the creators want another adventure.. idk hope they can somehow make that a nice concept and elaborate cuz i reallllly love this anime.

the creepy butterfly comes and ai acts smart.. and gets her otherself who supposedly already died dead? idk the rules are a mush now.. tho the shiny things thing.. i feel like it can be a reference.. also a lot of mirrors in this ep.. and we get the real villains of this story.. acca and ura acca.. frill is at the end their creation plus i Do Believe they could’ve killed the scary butterflies but they DIDNT cuzzz they want to bring the girl back... thus sacrificing the lives of so many.. and considering that our girls arent the first, it means that they saw the creepy butterflies do that over and over again.. then saw girls kill themselves from the trauma which is beyond fucked up.. and what they did to rika im Sueing..

anyways i want the sequel now and i really enjoyed this anime dispite how Super Confusing it might get.. lowkey believe the writers themselves dont know whats happening
