Worst Sonic fans I know would be WendyAtticus who over a decade ago harassed minors on Deviatnart for liking sonic/sally, she did ended up befriending fans who liked Sally but never apologized for what she did before she left the internet
I remember WendyAtticus fairly well as she was one of the major players in Kill-Sally-Club that traumatised me pretty bad. P sure she was either the admin or creator.
I don't know how old she was at the time, but she seemed pretty consumed by herself in a really bad way. I don't want to call it narcissism. I'm pretty sure it was just her finding a large audience looking for Sonic content, and Anti-Sally/Sonally content because the latter was hip at the time. There was something about her smugness and matter-of-fact behavior towards how awful, snobby, commanding, etc. her interpretation of Sally was, and how Sally fans were push-overs and a laughing stock that always infuriated me. Most of the people involved were literally kids just wanting to defend a character they liked. Most didn't even hate Amy or Sonamy until said fans just started harassing them.
Funnily enough, she came across just as snobby as she thought Sally was. I mean, she threatened to report people for screenshotting a low-effort Flash game. Bit ironic, innit?
Hate how SEGA proves people like Wendy right these days by refusing to acknowledge the character. Sally always deserved so much better. She really was born into the wrong kid's cartoon. :(
