both jmah!dream and sam (double time traveler now lmao) get punted into very early dsmp. like before anyone other than the original 8 joins. how badly does this go? how similar is it to if this happened to canon!dream and sam?
Funny enough, I touch on this just a little in this post, if you wanna check it out - though that was a scenario where jmah!Dream travels back alone. If they both travel back in the same manner as jmah!Sam, as in they get their memories in their old bodies, then it'll - really depend, honestly.
If they're together with the og 8 around while it happens, both of them would probably be really really disoriented at the beginning - enough for the other people in the room to at least get a sense that something's wrong. This scenario probably ends with everyone dropping everything to try and figure out what's happening Because Concern - if they, intentionally or not, end up spilling some information about the last timeline, then everyone else would probably react w/ the general thought process of like, both Dream and Sam have been through some Really Fucked Up Magical Shenanigans and Really Need Help as a result. Even if more of the specific details of their dynamic come to light, the emotions from the other members of the og 8 wouldn't be nearly as charged enough for them to react super violently outside of a general sense of Getting Their Friends Help.
In this scenario, both j!Dream and j!Sam would kind of be a whole Process - and the situation would be messy - but given the support of their other friends, they could probably begin making steps in the right direction towards, y'know, not crashing and burning and taking half the server down with them.
Other possibilities include that of if they were just With Each Other when the memories came in, or if they were each completely alone. If it's just them two, then Sam would probably try to physically restrain Dream and end up failing - but not before both of them get pretty substantially injured. There's a good chance, here, where Sam loses a life. In a situation where he does actually manage to get Dream restrained - either because Dream was lacking in gear for some reason at that point, or low in health, or because Sam managed to get an order off that has devastating consequences for Dream given his lackluster gear compared to what he's used to - he'd probably take Dream and ditch the server. Any attempt at Prison 2.0 would be sloppy and ill-managed, given j!Sam's lack of any proper gear and resources and j!Dream being much less deteriorated from being tortured for a year, but it would probably end similarly violently.
After this, both of them would probably go into a manner of reclusion - j!Dream is terrified of interacting with anyone, in a lot of ways, and searching for insurance to keep the world from going to shit again. j!Sam is obsessive over trying to find j!Dream and keep him from wreaking havoc. The rest of the og 8 are trying to track down their friends + family members, who literally disappeared one day - and any actual interactions with them will probably leave them with the impressions that both of them are really really not okay and Need Help. Fun times all around!
