Don't know if you know this, but drawing fast sketches with the lasso tool is a good way to improve and get a good grasp on shapes! This is generally good advice for even non-lasso art but specifically shaping fast with the lasso tool and similarly shaping in colors fast helps you get a good grip on shapes in and out of lasso art. It also just helps with getting more comfortable with the tool!
