My Regiment (if you will)
So I have been getting a lot of questions about what exactly I am doing to 1. lose weight and 2. do it so quickly. I will start off by saying that I am on a regimented program called WeightNot. I found out about WeightNot through a PodCast that I listen to where two of their cast members have lost over 100lbs!!! They inspired me and eventually I worked up the courage and the funding to do this diet. Preface - it is not cheap, but it is effective. I viewed it as an investment in my future.
The first phase is called HealthiStart and it is a complete cleanse that preps your body for weight loss - like hitting the restart button:
Day 1 and 2 are a modified fast (if you can get through this part you can get through anything!). In the morning and evening you have a detox shake (which is foul, but if you chug it you can get through it) and 3 supplements and you can have up to 120 calories of 100% juice throughout the day to keep your blood sugar up. Also - you need to drink at least 2 liters of water per day every day of the diet. (no soda, coffee, or energy drinks)
Day 3-7 is still part of your cleanse but this time WITH FOOD!!! The biggest thing they stress is trying to eat organic and eliminate the chemicals that you are putting into your body because it is hard for your liver to process them and they end up turning into fat in the long run. In the morning you have a lean protein or eggs and a fruit (they identify specific portions for all types of protein, fruits and vegetables in the guide that you get and you measure everything by weight), for lunch you have a lean protein and vegetables, and for dinner you have a lean protein, fruit and vegetables.
This portion of the diet you can anticipate to lose 5+ pounds, but I have found that you lose a lot more if you really stick to it.
After your first week you go into the meat of the diet, which follows the same structure as days 3-7 of the first week, but the portions of food are different and the supplements change.
Also they want you to walk 10,000 steps per day (roughly 5 miles), but I compensate this with gym time. I do have to take things slower because of the low caloric intake, but you have so much more energy once you start losing weight.
There are three more phases that are incorporated after the intense weight loss phase that are intended to help train you to maintain your new weight.
So that is the long winded answer. Sorry, I just get really excited about it when I talk about it because IT WORKS!
That being said, this is the kind of diet that is for someone who has a decent amount of weight to lose 30+ pounds. Check out some of their amazing success stories.
Ok, so that felt like a commercial.... I will try and not do that too much, but when something works you just want to share it!
