guys i'm so stoned rn & all i can think abt is the reader softening around the edges when you're high around dex: your laugh gets lighter, tone gentler, jokes funnier. dex feels like he learns more about you this way, so he doesn't mind the smell of weed if it lingers in your apartment. you're more than willing to overshare your life, overstepping professional boundaries, if you've had a hit from your bong. more agreeable, even, as you have quite the sharp tongue otherwise. you blink up at him with heavy-lidded, bloodshot eyes and the breath catches in his chest. you're sitting together watching law & order and he tries not to move when you curl up against his humongous shoulder like a cat. your nose nuzzles his tricep and dex feels his icy heart begin to melt. tracking your every slow movement, dex memorizes the slopes and angles of your face once your pretty eyes flutter shut. he doesn't dare breathe until he hears the first of your faint, annoyingly cute snores. a smirk slides on his lips. you're so lucky he's a gentleman, one of the good guys, he thinks as huge arms scoop you up and carry you to bed. other men might have nefarious intentions, but not dex. he's here to protect you; a guardian angel. they say eyes are the window to the soul and dex wanted yours--your eyes to drink him in, to understand him, to reflect back at him a version of himself he knew didn't exist but hoped for anyway. he needed to have your soul in his pocket, there for him to take out and examine, study and imitate. he'd never take advantage of you. admittedly, not because it was wrong, but because your eyes would be closed, and dex simply couldn't have that. so he'd wait ever-so-patiently for you, not noticing himself fall in love at the same rate you are, maybe faster.

i have a friend who has a bucket of edibles (unpackaged) that are 50mg or 100mg and a few 25mg as well and when she gets high she just takes one or two and sees what happens. one time i watched her take one and then 40 minutes later take another. genuinely incomprehensible behavior. I take 5-10mg at a time and track it all in a spreadsheet
