I decided to change my heroic Mysterio into a woman. My husband agreed that “Mysteria” sounded wrong, so I decided to call her “Lady Mysterio”. I also decided that since she is a genuine person, she should have genuine powers. Here is her backstory;

Sabah Ayid is a young instructor who teaches at Henry’s upper class college. She always had a particular fascination with legendary artifacts and is part of a society who believes many of them can be real so she was overjoyed when the New York Museum of History became home to the legendary Eyes of the Djinn; a pair of supposed magical crystal balls. Legend has it that anyone who posses both of the crystal balls can become both the wealthiest, wisest and most powerful person on Earth. Individually, each crystal makes the person who possesses it powerful, but the Left Eye bestows wealth while the Right Eye bestows wisdom.

During a field trip which she happily hosted, there was a break in of which the thieves attempted to steal the Eyes of the Djinn. Sabah tried to intervene as a good Samaritan, but she only managed to save one of the crystal balls; the Right Eye. Upon touching it with her right eye, she felt a surge of power charge her entire body and a series of images from both the past and future flashed before her eyes causing her to faint from being physically and mentally overwhelmed. A similar thing happened to the head thief, Nina Bashir except she got no visions. Instead, her scars disappeared.

After the incident, Nina became more and more beautiful each day and was able to move gold, silver and gems with her will and even reshape them. She could also cast a few other magic spells. The Kingpin decided that Nina, taking up the alias “Luxuria”, was an asset as she was now and is allowing her to keep the Left Eye until she recovers the Right Eye under the condition that she still works for him. As for Sabah, the Right Eye and her had a bond now, and her visions of a bleak future would not stop which compelled her to revisit the museum. Once there, the Right Eye showed her a vision of the Sultana who once protected the Eyes of the Djinn who warned her of the dangers that would befall the world if they fell into the hands of evil. With that, the Sultana’s spirit gave her the title of Protector and charged her with the divine responsibility of protecting both Eyes of the Djinn. With that, she took the Right Eye for safe keeping and has been at odds with Luxuria as one is after the other’s Eye.
