So I watched Spider-Man Homecoming, and I absolutely LOVED the movie!
It’s perhaps my favorite Spider-man movie to date, narrowly, narrowly, edging out Spiderman 2.
The reason why is a lot of factors:
The interactions of Spider-Man and Tony felt SO natural, and in no way does Tony feel shoe-horned; instead he feels like a natural part of Peter’s world, and their bonding moments just... ARGH! I AM SO READY FOR PATERNAL TONY FICS!!
The presence of other marvel characters and events feel like their literally ripped from a Spiderman comic. I mean, Captain America PSAs, and the fact that illegal alien-weapon arms dealing is a thing... And just like comics it’s a direct consequence of the aftermath of the Chitauri invasion, and what happens to ordinary folk with their ordinary jobs. Combined with the above, this makes Homecoming having the most “comic-book feel” of all the movies.
Tom Holland’s performance as Peter Parker was perfect. He gives out the inner human awkwardness of a teenage Parker so well, all the vulnerabilities and yet all his heroic spirit as well.
Michael Keaton as Vulture is now officially my fav marvel villain. I mean, he’s a legit BADASS, but one with a lot of depth as well. He really loves his family and would do anything to protect his family... but with bad methods.
I could gush more about why Spider Man Homecoming is such a great film, but I have a presentation to practice for tomorrow so I have to cut it a bit short xD
Cheers Everyone!
P.S. I took two reference covers for this one... the other one was a Deadpool cover. xD
