Hello everyone! Today we will focus on a particular web quest and evaluate it with a rubric. Before we start, what is web quests and what cana we do with them in fields of education?

Webquests are often used to encourage critical thinking and researching abilities for the learners. Given various topics, learners will either begin with the writing down the information they know or about the given plot; it may vary depending on the given instructions about the task. After they write them down they will research the things that they have to learn and at the end, a presentation or writing material will be prepared. 

In this post we will focus on the web quest that is aimed for college students, from the website Zunal. The web quest focuses on “Human Rights” (click to open the quest) , the quest will be evaluated with rubric (click again). Lets start!

First of all the description of the quest and the instructions were well written and detailed. The topic is one of the important issues that we see in the modern world and to begin with, even its located on the last box in the rubric, grammar is exceptional. Well written and formatted.

One of the things that will catch the attention is the links. The links are from United Nations and Amnesty International (global human rights movement). Some of the links are not working due to the websites change of databases or renewals so we can say for the links, its admirable.

While i was reading the tasks, I was amazed that it is well constructed. Tasks are definitely exceptional and is fun for the learners because the sites or attachments that can be beneficial are in, with the preparation of presentation is also explained in detail.

In this web quest, the fonts and colors are just like any other normal writing pieces. However when you read it, it becomes effective. In terms of project attractiveness, I would say it’s exceptional because of the simplicity and efficiency.

For the time use, admirable. For the research part, it can be done in the classroom time or given a selected time to implement it. The time for the presentation is given.
