Iridescence. A piece woven as a baby wrap for my baby back in 2019. Reeled silk warp x spun silk weft, both hand dyed. My fourth child was due in October 2019 and we had just moved from gloucestershire to Cornwall. I was endlessly inspired by the sea, the waves, the cool water on my skin, the warm sand...This wrap was inspired by the name we eventually settled on for my daughter, Iridescence. I was stunned by the colour play across this wrap and the way the light danced over the lustrous silk. It was everything I had hoped to achieve and more. The weave was chosen again to create the illsuion of dancing whirlpools of water in the sea. It worked so beautifully.
