Love letter, circa 2014-present Peplum blouse This is a trusted favorite. It goes with most of my wardrobe, always looks put together, and travels well too. When I bought this blouse in 2014, it was a bold print with bright coral flowers. I have a habit of giving clothing a dip it in blue dye if I’ve become bored with a print or color. I’ve found that absolutely everything looks better in blue....erm except that one leopard-y print top that came out bright purple....but absolutely everything else 😇. #lovedclotheslast #wearitagain #2014 #loveletter https://www.instagram.com/p/B3XgS3zBJ4x/?igshid=12812z5vkdvwe
Love Letter, circa 2011- present I ❤️ NY tee Yes, I do love this big, glorious, chaotic city. And I do own a (faded, crackled, loved) “I love NY” tee. I wear it ironically at times. And other times genuinely. Friday night, on my subway ride home I watched 2 teenage boys playing a game of wits, sitting across from each other...not a cell phone in sight; interrupted by a dancer who performed one of the most rhythmic, hypnotic, beautiful dances I’ve ever seen. Saturday I listened to a pianist in Washington Square Park and watched a man peacefully meditating amongst the bustle of the city around him. These things all reminded me of what I love about this place. The people. The energy. The vibrancy and the grace. #nyc #lovedclotheslast #wearitagain https://www.instagram.com/p/B3CPTDoBMxA/?igshid=1270r4mz4xw39
Love Letter, circa 1980-present Two-tone jacket The Original & My Take This jacket was my grandmother’s. She had impeccable style, and was sometimes quite daring with her outfit choices. I don’t remember seeing her wear this outfit, but when she passed away and we were clearing some things in the house, I found it in her closet. It’s a size 12 petite, the dress was too high-waisted for me but the jacket was just right (once I removed the shoulder pads), and it also came with a magenta paten leather belt that I still have. The label inside has the ILGWU tag, the International Ladies Garment Workers Union- signifying that it was made in the US. It’s very good quality, the fabric seems almost new, nearly 40 years later! I usually wear this with black jeans and a tee. It’s so special to have a piece of clothing that was my grandma’s, I feel closer to her when I wear it. I like to think she’s smiling down on me as I navigate my own fashion journey. #lovedclotheslast #wearitagain #loveletters #SecondhandSeptember #1980 https://www.instagram.com/p/B2ZcjjhhSVn/?igshid=qxbma1lqebz3

What’s your waste size? Did you know that it’s estimated globally that only 20% of our discarded textiles are recycled. Which means 80% are incinerated or landfilled. What do you do with your old clothes? Did you know that most torn or stained textiles can be recycled/ downcycled? Here are 10 pieces I’ve parted with over the past 10 years. Some are secondhand pieces that I resold or donated. Some I dropped off at Wearable Collections and Goodwill. Others I sold on eBay and Tradesy. #clothesarenttrash #wearitagain #wearablecollections #secondhandseptember https://www.instagram.com/p/B2PpASUBhaU/?igshid=1jc69orpu03ho
Love letter, circa 2011- present My current uniform Day to day I can be found in some variation of this outfit. It’s me. It’s practical, while still chic. Smart but also laid back. The boots are secondhand from Vestiaire Collective, seriously check them out- they have such brilliant secondhand items! The blazer is 6 years old (the lining in tatters now 😳), I love the cut of it and it goes with everything. #lovedclotheslast #secondhandseptember #wearitagain #loveletters #myuniform https://www.instagram.com/p/B2C0jkPh098/?igshid=52xxe1w2facl
Love Letter, circa 1985-1995 School uniform September still means back to school. New stationary, getting organized. For years I wore different variations of this uniform, accessorizing with shoes and earrings and barrettes or scrunchies! On a Sunday night, I used to plan out my week of accessories on my dresser- setting them out by day. Wearing the same thing day to day instilled certain values and ideas about clothing, and it also made me more creative in my attention to the details...and how much I relished seeing what adults *chose* to wear. My second grade teacher, Mrs Giba, had exceptional style. I looked forward to school just to see what she was wearing each day. I still tend to wear a uniform of sorts. But these days that consists of skinny jeans, a favorite tee and blazer, ankle boots. I still like to go wild with the accessories from time to time..... #lovedclotheslast #wearitagain #1985 #backtoschool https://www.instagram.com/p/B19B3wyB0jn/?igshid=1wgoz0p31e5wq
