So this is a departure from doing one level at a time but it's important to mention given the recent update that added p-2 to the game.
It has been confirmed that weaponless p% p-2 is possible. It is by far the hardest level of the game and completion of it without weapons and with a P rank was for a while thought nearly impossible. However the speedrunner Ross has achieved this.
As a weaponless runner they were more focused on fullgame weaponless p% and did most of the routing of the category following the release of wrath and heresy. I do intend to run the category as well but it goes without saying, for weaponless combat skill they are unmatched.
Sorry I’ve been gone, again. I know that I kinda do this a lot. But, I haven’t had any muse.Â
I've decided just to get a few more posts out about weaponless% to go through each level in the game and give some pointers, tips, tricks and fun facts!
So here we go! 0-1 The level that prevents weaponless new game as you need to break the glass to avoid picking up the pistol. Besides that though this level plays very standard for weaponless runs. Get out of starting room, perform the pipe clip out of bounds and then leap to the last room. Interestingly enough this mal face appears to have less health than normal, allowing an instakill with parries if you time and aim correctly!
(Good time is anything under 30seconds to around 20. Iirc wr tho is like 12 seconds but absurdly hard to get)
Well might as well do 0-4!
For weaponless% there is only one fight you need to optimise in 0-4 and that's the first one. It's also the second place typical routing uses the technique known as blender. Enter the first area and go to the far wall to spawn all enemies in, then start off the blender by grabbing all the strays, as soon as the last one is grabbed let yourself drop and kb all the filth.
Mal face will spawn and die in one or 2 parries, do note that if not dead you can whip em and slam a few times on their face. 4 slams is their full health.
After that leave the room, mix some dsj stuff and slides to get ot the last room. Here you have to avoid the enemy spawn trigger which is done easily by traveling along the ceiling with either a slam store or some good wall junps and dashes.
Once over the trigger just leave the level! Simple as that.
(You defo wanna aim under 30 for this level for sure. Wr iirc is low 20s but I'd say roll with anything below 30)
0-4 for weaponless is probably high up on the list of easiest weaponless% levels.

1-1 is a fairly straightforward weaponless% level that doesn't vary a whole lot.
You want to start off the level with a fairly tight series of dives. Beining with a slam store in the start room, dive forwards and be prepared to dive again as soon as you leave the doors. Aim at the door on the right and do a dive or slide jump at the top of the steps to travel in range of the skull. Whiplash the skull mid air to land and dive back towards the fountain area. (You can replace dives with slide jumps if you want)
Place red skull and go to first arena. Here the main plan is to use whip and kb to knock drones into other drones. When done correctly you should be leaving this room around or under 20 seconds.
Ultradive from the door to get to the checkpoint room but it's crucial you don't hit the checkpoint. Wall jump or slam jump to the ceiling and use dashes to go over the top and dodge the checkpoint, then continue. Don't pick up the gun and continue through the level, you can slam store off the doors at the start of the long corridor if you want but it not 100%needed. Once you get to the blue skull room whip the skull and immediately checkpoint reset. You will be further ahead to place blue skull than actual movement.
The only remaining problem in the level to tackle then is the last room. The first fight you want to start by heading ahead to the red door wall and getting a slam store. Using this, perform the blender technique mentioned previously by whipping the red strays into you and finish the blender off by whipping the schisms up into the air and using KB to knock them down into the ground to kill.
The last stage is more drones to whip and punch into eachother, however for making this optimal we do deal with enemy rng in positioning as with very good luck, they can group up and die in one explosion.
Overall aim for 1min. Sub 1min times are great and anyone under 1:10 I would keep. This is definitely a level that tests how good you can chain and perform quick inputs
By far, one of the biggest starting challenges for weaponless% is 0-3 and particularly swordsmachine. With fast melee attacks and most of their mobility coming from their swings and lunges staying alive weaponless is tougher than expected especially given you cannot win by keeping your distance.
So how is it done? I find that the best strat is to back up into a corner. It looks and sounds mad but there's proper reasoning. When sm swings, parry the first one while dashing backwards then dash back again to dodge the 2nd and parry dash the 3rd. This way you should conserve most of your health while dealing a significant amount of damage.
One thing to beware, as per weaponless rules you cannot pick up the shotgun. So once the health bar is on a tiny bit left, leap into the air and use the kb explosion to get the last bit done :)
Now do the same again and don't die :)
