[[What would good ol' Orni do with the wondrous soul of Velka, Goddess of Sin?]]
((Panic and cry, mostly. Possibly go mad, considering it would be like being given her mother’s corpse for use in weapon-making. She almost certainly would seek some way to return her to life, to hunt down one of the few and dangerous methods of returning a soul to a body, no matter the cost it would take of her… And she would also almost certainly be quite furious at whoever produced it, considering they would have had to kill Velka to get it!
Assuming she got over that or otherwise was unaffected…))
[Sinner’s Bell]Type: Sacred Chime (Strike)Physical/Magic Str/Dex/Int: 0/125 -/-/ASpell Buff: 125Cast Speed: 100Durability: 30Skill: Original Sin- The user’s next cast spell is boosted in power based on their level of sin.
“It is not so rare as is claimed for a talisman to take part of its power from the caster’s intellect - but it is rare indeed for it to only draw upon that. This bell calls upon the furious souls that surround the user, empowering Miracles, Hexes, and Sorceries alike.
Not all sins are wrong, and not all justice is kind - Velka was goddess of both, and feared by the gods for her refusal to grant them clemency from their own sins. With her defeat and disappearance, her servants were left frightened and alone, hunted or hiding, praying for the day of her return. Even now, with the gods scattered and defeated by the ages, she has not shown her face…
This bell was one comfort that some bore, for it was said that it would ring as long as Velka still lived somewhere, waiting her time to return. What do your ears tell you, when you ring it?”
[Witch’s Sickle]Type: Reaper (Slash)Physical/Magic Str/Dex/Int: 0/150 -/-/SPoisebreak/Counter: 15/130Durability: 45Skill: Soulreap - The user cuts not the target’s physical body, but their soul itself. Deals little damage, but completely ignores shields, buffs, and armor.
“This weapon scarcely seems to exist - its blade ephemeral dark, rippling and trembling as it nears its foe. Velka herself bore a weapon like this, alongside her rapier. Many of the foes she and her followers faced were divine in nature, and nearly unassailable with mundane means - it was necessary to strike with more guile, aiming for their very essence.
Velka was among the first gods to appear after the lighting of the First Flame, unafraid of the dragons that warred with them. Her role was not that of a frontline warrior, however, but of hunting down those gods, lords, and men who were seduced by the Dragons and drawn to their side. There were many who turned against Gwyn - but her blade only ever missed a single, now-Nameless foe.”
[Velka’s Original Rapier]Type: Thrusting Sword (Thrust/Slash)Physical/Magic Str/Dex/Int: 85/105 E/S/APoisebreak/Counter: 25/115Durability: 40Skill: Flair of Justice - A flashy sword maneuver designed to avoid parries and strike at the foe’s heart. Damage is boosted by target’s sin.
“There is little that distinguishes this enchanted rapier from any other Pardoner’s sword, save its masterful crafting. Its light construction allows the wielder to strike in complex patterns, as much a slashing weapon as a thrusting one.
Velka was a goddess, but she did not only rely upon those divine powers in battle - for her foes would have nearly as great a Soul as her. She had honed her skill with a blade in war and peace, and it was this clever flash of steel that the gods quickly learned to fear, not merely her magic.
Yet in the end it was insufficient, and Velka was cast down alongside her followers, imprisoned in a painted world. Or so the rumors go…”
