Weak Hero Characters Crushing on a Chubby Reader Pt.1
↳ pt.2
────────────
Synopsis:
Being a chubby girl wasn’t always easy.
Sometimes it was the comments from strangers.
Sometimes it was comparing yourself to other
girls.
Sometimes it was simply looking in the mirror and wishing you could see yourself the way everyone else seemed to.
But when some of Eunjang’s most unexpected boys begin developing crushes on you, they start showing you something you’ve never really believed before.
That you’re pretty exactly the way you are.
From awkward compliments and protective moments to teasing, jealousy, and soft confessions, each character has their own way of falling for you and proving that your size was never something that needed fixing.
After all, while you spend your time noticing your flaws, they’re too busy noticing everything they love about you.

────────────
Yeon Si-eun
Si-eun knew you were chubby.
Not because he cared.
He just noticed things.
That was all.
One afternoon you were sitting together at cram school when you looked down at your stomach and sighed.
“I really need to lose weight.”
Si-eun didn’t even look up from his worksheet.
“Then exercise.”
You stared at him.
“…What?”
“If you want to lose weight, exercising would help.”
His tone was completely matter-of-fact.
Like he was explaining a math problem.
You felt your face heat up immediately.
“Oh.”
The way your voice dropped finally made him glance up.
You looked embarrassed.
Almost hurt.
Si-eun blinked.
“…Did I say something wrong?”
You laughed awkwardly.
“No. You’re right.”
You looked away.
And suddenly Si-eun realized what happened.
Great.
He’d done it again.
He stared at his pencil for a few seconds before speaking.
“I wasn’t saying you have to.”
You looked back at him.
“I know.”
“No. I mean…”
For once, Yeon Si-eun looked genuinely unsure of himself.
He tapped his pencil against the desk.
“You look fine.”
You blinked.
“…Fine?”
His ears immediately turned red.
Wrong word.
Wrong word.
“You look good.”
The words came out stiff and awkward.
You couldn’t help laughing a little.
Si-eun immediately looked away.
“I was trying to help.”
“I know.”
“And I wasn’t calling you fat.”
“I know.”
He sighed.
This was why talking was annoying.
Still when he glanced over and saw you smiling again, he decided the embarrassment was worth it.

Ahn Su-ho
Su-ho worked at the restaurant enough that he started noticing regular customers.
And lately, he’d noticed you.
Not in a creepy way.
Okay maybe a little.
You came in almost every week.
Sometimes alone.
Sometimes with friends.
And every single time you ordered a ridiculous amount of food.
At least ridiculous compared to everyone else.
Su-ho thought it was cool.
You actually ate your food.
Meanwhile half the girls he knew would order fries and eat three of them.
One afternoon he spotted you sitting alone by the window.
Immediately his mood improved.
He grabbed your tray and walked over.
“Here.”
“Thank you.”
You smiled up at him.
Su-ho sat across from you for a second before looking at everything on your tray.
A burger.
Fries.
A drink.
Dessert.
Then he grinned.
“Wow. You really know how to eat.”
The second the words left his mouth, your smile dropped.
“…Oh.”
Su-ho blinked.
Wait.
Why did she look sad?
“Oh. No.”
He pointed at your food quickly.
“Not in a bad way.”
You looked unconvinced.
“No seriously.”
He leaned forward.
“It’s cool.”
“…What?”
“You actually eat.”
You stared at him.
Su-ho rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.
He was making this worse.
“A lot of girls get embarrassed eating around people.”
You blinked.
“I always thought that was weird.”
His eyes moved back to your tray.
“You order what you want and you eat it.”
He shrugged.
“I like that.”
Your face immediately felt warm.
Su-ho didn’t even realize what he said.
Then suddenly he froze.
Wait.
That sounded bad too.
“No. I mean—”
He pointed at you.
Then at the food.
Then at you again.
“I like… that you’re comfortable.”
You laughed.
“You’re terrible at compliments.”
“I’m trying.”
You laughed harder.
And Su-ho smiled.
The food wasn’t why he paid attention.
It was you.

Go Tak
Go Tak liked hanging out with you.
It was easy.
No drama.
No complicated conversations.
Just food, basketball, and whatever random thing the two of you decided to do that day.
Today happened to be food.
The two of you sat at a small restaurant booth while Go Tak absolutely demolished his meal.
You were doing the same.
Halfway through your second plate, Go Tak glanced over and laughed.
“You eat like Baku.”
You froze.
Your chopsticks stopped moving.
“…Oh.”
Go Tak blinked.
What was that reaction?
“What?”
You shook your head.
“Nothing.”
Then you quietly set your chopsticks down.
Go Tak frowned.
Now you weren’t eating.
Why weren’t you eating?
“Seriously. What?”
“Nothing.”
There was that word again.
Nothing.
Which obviously meant something.
Go Tak sighed.
“Oh come on.”
You looked away.
“Don’t tell me you’re actually mad.”
You stayed quiet.
And that’s when it finally clicked.
…Oh.
Right.
Maybe comparing a girl to Baku wasn’t the smartest thing he’d ever done.
Go Tak rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.
“You know that’s not what I meant.”
You shrugged.
He sighed again.
Why was this so difficult?
“You shouldn’t let stupid stuff like that get to you.”
You looked at him.
His expression softened slightly.
“I wasn’t making fun of you.”
Another awkward silence.
Then he mumbled,
“You look… okay.”
You stared at him.
Go Tak immediately looked away.
His ears were turning red.
Not because he was embarrassed.
Okay maybe a little.
“You know what I mean.”
“No. I don’t.”
He groaned.
“You look good.”
The words came out irritated.
Like he was annoyed you made him say it.
Which honestly made it sound more sincere.
You couldn’t help smiling a little.
Go Tak noticed immediately.
“There.”
He pointed at you.
“That face. That’s better.”
Then he pushed your plate back toward you.
“Now keep eating.”
You laughed.
And Go Tak smiled to himself.
Mission accomplished.

Seo Jun-tae
Jun-tae was a little weird.
He watched too much anime.
Way too much anime.
Which was exactly why every time he looked at you, his brain immediately started comparing you to his favorite characters.
Especially when it came to your thighs.
Not in a creepy totally pervy way.
Just because every anime girl seemed to have thick thighs and somehow your legs reminded him of them.
Of course, he’d rather die than tell you that.
One afternoon, the two of you were walking through a shopping center together when you suddenly stopped in front of a large mirror.
Jun-tae stopped too.
You frowned at your reflection.
He tilted his head.
“What’s wrong?”
You sighed.
“My thighs.”
Jun-tae immediately froze.
Your… what?
You pointed at your reflection.
“They look huge.”
“Oh.”
You looked down.
“I wish they were smaller.”
Jun-tae stared at the floor.
Then at the mirror.
Then at the floor again.
He looked like he was solving the hardest math problem in existence.
You waited patiently.
Finally, he spoke.
“I… um…”
His face was turning red.
You blinked.
“What?”
Jun-tae rubbed the back of his neck.
“I think you look… good.”
You stared at him.
His face somehow got even redder.
“I mean…”
He looked away immediately.
“Like how you are.”
Your heart skipped a beat.
Jun-tae continued staring at literally anything except you.
“You don’t need to… change.”
His voice got quieter with every word.
For a moment, neither of you spoke.
Then you smiled softly.
Jun-tae risked a glance in your direction.
Seeing you smile made his entire brain stop working.
“Thank you, Jun-tae.”
He immediately looked away again.
“Mhm.”
That was all he managed to say.
He was relieved.
Because he really meant it.
Even if he was way too embarrassed to explain why.

Oh Beom-seok
Beom-seok hated seeing people be mean to you.
Hated it.
The problem was that most of the time he didn’t know what to do about it.
One night he was scrolling through Instagram when one of your posts appeared on his feed.
You looked happy.
You were smiling with your friends while holding a drink.
Beom-seok smiled a little before opening the comments.
Big mistake.
Among all the compliments was one comment.
“Maybe lose some weight first.”
Beom-seok’s smile disappeared instantly.
He stared at the screen.
Then he reread it.
Then read it again.
His grip tightened around his phone.
Who wrote that?
Why would someone say that?
He clicked the account immediately.
A random account.
Probably some loser hiding behind a screen.
Before he could stop himself, Beom-seok logged into a spare account.
And then another.
And another.
By the end of the night he was arguing with a complete stranger through three different accounts.
It was pathetic.
But he didn’t care.
The comment was gone by morning.
Unfortunately, the damage had already been done.
A few days later Beom-seok met up with you after school.
Normally you ordered something filling.
A sandwich.
Chicken.
Sometimes ramen.
Something.
Today you walked up with a small salad.
Beom-seok frowned immediately.
“That’s all you’re eating?”
You looked down at your food.
“Yeah.”
There was something off about your voice.
Beom-seok already knew.
He just didn’t want to hear it.
“I need to lose weight anyway.”
There it was.
His stomach sank.
You poked at your salad without looking up.
Beom-seok stared at it for a few seconds before quietly speaking.
“You don’t need to.”
You laughed softly.
“Sure.”
“No.”
His answer came out quicker than expected.
You finally looked at him.
Beom-seok looked nervous immediately after speaking.
But he continued anyway.
“You don’t.”
You stayed quiet.
“It’s because of those comments, right?”
Your eyes widened slightly.
Beom-seok looked away.
He hated knowing he was right.
“People say stuff online all the time.”
You shrugged.
“Maybe they’re right.”
Beom-seok frowned.
“No.”
His voice was firmer this time.
“They aren’t.”
You blinked.
Beom-seok rarely sounded that serious.
“They’re idiots.”
His hands clenched slightly underneath the table.
“Don’t listen to them.”
You looked down at your salad again.
“But—”
“They’re idiots.”
He repeated it immediately.
Like he needed you to understand.
“You shouldn’t change because some random person said something mean.”
You looked at him for a moment before smiling softly.
“Thanks, Beom-seok.”
His face immediately turned pink.
“O-of course.”
You didn’t notice the way his jaw tightened afterward.
Or the fact that he’d already memorized that account’s username.
Because later that night, Beom-seok was absolutely going to find out who left that comment.
And whoever it was…
They were about to have a very bad day. (Of course he would his money for it though.)

Na Baek-jin
Na Baek-jin knew most people at school.
That was what happened when you were the top student.
People knew him.
And he knew them.
Including you.
You weren’t exactly popular, but Baek-jin knew who you were.
You were smart.
Always studying.
Always trying.
Whenever teachers asked difficult questions, your hand was usually one of the first to go up.
He respected that.
As for your appearance?
He never cared much.
People made comments about your weight sometimes.
He heard them.
But he never paid attention.
Frankly, he thought they were stupid.
He thought you were cute.
That was the end of it.
One afternoon, Baek-jin was leaving class when someone suddenly bumped into him.
You.
You immediately stepped back.
“Oh, sorry.”
Your voice sounded strange.
Baek-jin looked down at you.
Your eyes were red.
Like you’d been crying.
You quickly looked away.
Baek-jin frowned slightly.
“What’s wrong?”
You froze.
Honestly, he did too.
He wasn’t even sure why he’d asked.
You forced a smile.
“N-nothing.”
Then you tried to walk away.
Before you could, Baek-jin grabbed your wrist.
Not hard.
Just enough to stop you.
“What happened?”
His voice was calm.
Firm.
The kind of voice that expected an answer.
You looked shocked.
For a moment neither of you moved.
Then you gently pulled your wrist away.
“It’s nothing.”
And before he could ask again, you hurried off.
Baek-jin stood there for a second.
Annoyed.
Not at you.
At the fact that he suddenly cared.
As he continued walking through the hallway, he passed a group of boys laughing near the stairwell.
Normally he would’ve ignored them.
Then he heard your name.
“Y/n is so fucking ugly.”
The group burst out laughing.
Baek-jin stopped walking.
The hallway suddenly felt very quiet.
The boys noticed him standing there.
Their laughter died immediately.
Baek-jin looked at them.
No expression.
“Say that again.”
The boys immediately went pale.
One of them laughed nervously.
“It was just a joke.”
Baek-jin stared at him.
“A joke.”
His voice was flat.
Cold.
The boy swallowed.
Nobody answered.
Baek-jin adjusted his backpack strap.
Then he stepped closer.
“I don’t remember laughing.”
That was all he said.
And somehow it was enough.
After that day, those boys never bothered you again.
Not in the hallways.
Not online.
Not even behind your back.
And you never found out why.
The only thing you noticed was that the comments suddenly stopped.
Meanwhile, whenever Baek-jin saw you studying in class, he found himself glancing over a little longer than usual.
Just to make sure you looked okay.
