Hi. I have a question. This seemed like the place to go. I'm trying to write an AU, and I mean like, totally AU. I'm completely erasing some characters and introducing new ones. I'm not really sure how explain it, but I can't write my female character. She's too much of a pushover, which is sort of her character, but she's just trying to keep it all together. So, my question is, how the hell do I write a weak female character with a motive for her weakness?
OK. What's the purpose of your AU? If you're completely erasing some characters, why not erase the weak female character as well? If you can't do it, there must be a reason for her being in the AU. Once you discover what that is, you ought to be able to write her much easier. No matter how weak she is. Good Luck!
