I was re-watching We Young and thought to myself that the girl looks kind of familiar but I couldn’t point out who or what character was I thinking. On the next day, I was having a Red Velvet marathon and noticed that what they wore in Rookie plus the red hair for some members reminded me of that girl.

I know Rookie was released first before We Young but, to me, its not like they want to make it obvious by releasing them in a chronological order just for the story (if this were a real thing). What the girls’ wore (and their hair for some) is enough as a small hint (if people actually notice). At least both MVs are released at the same year.

Maybe I could say Red Velvet as a whole instead of just Seulgi (like both Joy and Irene had raid hair too) but I saw this scene of her and just thought maybe she represents the girl when she is older and was looking for the boys again. This one scene where she looks like she’s trying to find something inside the closet,

Just reminded me of the door that opened to the world where the boys are (the dream world). She was dreaming after all. Then when she is older, she looked for that world again by searching for it inside a closet (like Narnia 🤷🏻‍♀️).

But then again, Seulgi wasn’t the only one opening doors and going inside it so maybe its Red Velvet as a whole. But I’m pretty sure this is only just for this one comeback, its not like their entire lore are connected. Each groups have their own stuff to deal with.

Before I discuss We Young, I think you need to know that Red Velvet’s lore is about the mirror realm; their version of the other world (like aespa has their aes). They have their Red and their Velvet.

There was this part when “the other self”/shadow(?) of the girl came out from her and ran away. I think this represents Red Velvet’s other selves (like its their Velvet). I would also like to take note that they were exploring this world inside frames... like the mirror realm. They even danced inside it in later parts of the MV, specifically when they were after the girl. The shadow came out when they were eating on the table inside one of the frames.

The shadow went into a deeper part of the mirror world.

Well in the end, they brought back the girls’ “other self” and took her as a whole (with something on her shoes(?)) back to the door.
