I spent two and a half hours on the phone with my bf today. I don’t actually remember the last time we spoke for real, but it was great.

guys, can we please not make this a turf war between hadestown and be more chill? these are two vastly different shows with vastly different goals and target audiences in their art. yes, it sucks to see a favorite get snubbed, but sometimes that’s how it goes, and if you take a closer look at the other categories and nominees, it kind of makes sense. this was a stacked year for talent (and i’m saying this as someone who enjoys bmc). instead of getting uppity about people being “robbed” or rubbing opinions/rude comments in each other’s faces, can we please recognize the hard work and skill every single nominee displayed this season? i don’t see a single name that doesn’t deserve to be there. i think for bmc fans it should be victory enough that joe iconis, a great indie composer, got nominated for best score. that bmc made it to broadway in the first place. and there are plenty of other victories for other shows too! hadestown, the prom, and so many others have so much to celebrate. i’m seeing too much hate in the tags between fans of different shows. theatre is a cutthroat industry as it is, and i think we should be lifting each other up instead of tearing each other down.

wow, can’t believe i have to stay off all forms of social media today because apparently no one can even be happy that mike faist was nominated lmao. let people be happy that someone they care about was nominated? at least? yikes. tony drama is the worst!!
