this is such a sweet compliment for Dale - its important to em that like human!Dale and demon!Dale are like, narrative foils for each other and that even thought human!Dale is never in the story proper, that he's still there.
its also so important to me that there's a level of shenanigans with the story as they do this elaborate deception and dance that is both well covered up and painfully obvious. its about how well you know people and how they change and how you don't know them at all. its about who you are to different people, how some people accept parts of you and don't accept others and how those things are different for each person. people only see us in a variety of fun house mirrors and they're all true reflections and all inaccurate. About how people can be right and wrong about you at the same time.
