hm...rereading it for the final time? fics i put a lot of work into, i have firefox read them out to me, which is always a little silly.

but mostly i just do it and move on asap. i try really hard not to get too hung up on things right before posting because it's the one time i get stats junkie-like.

46. Few long essay reviews or many short reviews?

any reviews good <3

what catches the ear; what catches the eye

it's probably less underrated now because i keep whining about how no one has read it, so people read it, but this is really one of my favourite fics. it feels like me in a way most fics don't, and i like that a lot about it.

it feels homey and familiar and i just...there's some REALLY good moments of lyricism in it, in ways i don't normally get to express.

yes i'll be providing examples. but under a cut bc there's a lot.

what catches the ear; what catches the eye

this one is "brainrot" fics: i.e., fics that forced me to write them out of sheer brainrot.

most of these are set in a relatively undiscussed au, so if you're the type who likes one-shots in an otherwise unexposited au, these are that.

relatavistic — a night circus au. really, it's swiftpaw/brightheart/cloudtail, in the form of stray cats. i mean, i'm really happy with it.

denouncement — this is actually canon compliant. an exploration of leopardstar. and riverclan. i like it.

ferromagnetic — holly/willow au, involving a mystery incident and cats being really gay.

what catches the ear; what catches the eye — jaypoppy au that's vaguely canon compliant. poppy pov, got a lot of poetic flair. one of my favorites.
