muscle burn from working out. the clarity and numbness after crying. a brewing storm. soft whispers in the dark and still air. the pursuit of knowledge and power. fleeting feelings of pride. instinctively reaching for someone long gone. a lone birds’ cry in an otherwise silent forest. the love that remains even once someone has left you. the sound of splintering ice. smiling tiredly when you want only to scream at the world. the wonder and fear of realizing just how small and insignificant you are compared to the world. the satisfaction of finally finding closure.
Poisonpetal feels like.....
the dark and empty sky suddenly flickering with distant lightning. biting into chocolate, expecting it to be sweet only to be left with a bitter after taste. the search for purpose. a to-do list you can never seem to finish. a faded ribbon once beautiful and vibrant. the foreboding sense that you don’t belong in the only place you’ve called home. the tell tale aches of an oncoming migraine. learning to never look back. fearing that you’ll end up like your parents. dark ponds slick with ice. the creaky stairs leading up to the attic. wafts of phantom scents bringing up memories long buried. the slowing of time as the sun dips beyond the horizon. a constant and ominous dread growing in the pit of your stomach as you recognize reoccurring patterns.
Coldamber feels like.....
a fiery and molten core. believing in something with all your might. the morning fog rolling in. a kindness often mistaken for weakness. a beautiful plant with its thorns carefully hidden. becoming numb to the stench of death. the biting chill of touching snow with your bare hands. trying to quiet a storm of emotions. yearning to be understood. an empty sky on the open moors. the sensation of falling. splitting headaches. a trauma you cannot remember that haunts your every day. nauseating feelings of deja vu. the distinct feeling that something is missing but never remembering what it is. ancient fossils trapped in dark amber. life growing from the decay of old bones. sunlight that brings no warmth. a gnawing hunger that is never satiated.
