the "dating days" in wcal feel like they thought they were filming no-dialogue flashback scenes, like something that looks cute if shown in a quick succession with a cheezy filter to contrast with how supposedly miserable they are now. they don't work for me as actual, dialogue-filled scenes that are supposed to make me feel something tho. ppl on twt are all like "this is real love" "they were so inlove omg" but I do not buy it At All. there is something very off about that part of their performance to me I can't tell if it's the acting or the script but like I'm not convinced π€
i agree. they never have one meaningful conversation or learn anything real about each other. it also didn't make any sense--she said she didn't believe in fate, but meeting him at the park made her believe in it; meanwhile she'd already told him he ran there every morning, and then he specifically showed up there to find her. hello??? she tells her friend she doesn't think they'll meet again..........but they literally work across from each other and she stares at him every day like.....okay.
