Okay so I think of this a *lot* while I'm at work and then always forget to make a post or anything about it when I'm actually able to and I finally remembered when I'm not at work so:
A concept I've been thinking about for years now re: gods in fantasy worlds that I think would be really interesting is the God of Cords
And your definition of a "cord" can be very very broad
I think about this a lot when I'm vacuuming and I have to flip my vacuum's cord over a lot of furniture, or when it gets knots in it, or gets caught on those stupid chair legs I despise
So electrical cords definitely count. But also, rope. Or string, yarn, thread, etc. Hair could count if you think about it the right way
And from there I feel like you could find a way to make just about anything fall under this god's domain. If thread counts then why not a tapestry, which is just a bunch of threads woven together in a specific way? Or any kind of woven fabric?
Sailors pray to this god because of all the knots they have to tie on their ships
If the setting has electricity, electricians pray to this god that their cords don't get tangled
Hairdressers pray to this god for help with elaborate hairstyles
There are more ideas I've thought of, though they're not currently coming to mind, and I just *love* thinking about this
I think you could *easily* make the God of Cords the central figure of a religion, even a polytheistic one with this god at the head of the pantheon
I've spent very little time building religions in the world of Walk Against the Wind (not really my favorite thing to worldbuild) but I would really love to play with this concept there
