#lurkinginWatson
Dorm life, as we all know, can be pretty exciting, especially when it comes to open dorms. While they only happen once a week, for many, itās the highlight. This is the time when the girls can venture through Watson and discover potential love interests, and when the guys can come to do the same in girls dorms. While weāre not scouting out any potentials, we do like to do a bit of ālurkingā on the occasion. Itās just a bit of fun, and we come back with heaps of stories to make the other girls jealous. (Side note: What they didnāt tell us when we first went to open dorms expecting to ālurkā about was that you had to drop your ID cards at the desk, and have a guy come and collect you from the foyer. Needless to say we started listing off any name we knew and the guy started calling them over the loudspeaker! Goooood times.) But take for example our most recent adventure in Watson:
Ā Open dorms arrived on Sunday night, and although we both had heaps of study to do, we decided to go ālurkingā as we call it. (Why lurking? Imagine that person who sits on Facebook looking at everyoneās posts and photos, but doesnāt actually like any of them. Lesbihonest ā we were just sussing out how Watson worked yeah?) We did set a time limit for ourselves, but after two hours of learning how to use InDesign, beating guys at pool, running up and down the fire escape for kicks, learning how to Dougie and holding snakes, well, letās just say that we didnāt end up getting much done that night. Wasnāt so much lurking as it was living it up meeting heaps of new people!
(Ps. Can I just say how much Watson smells? Girls ā why do we do it to ourselves?)
But it was when we went to visit one of our friends that we had our brilliant idea to have alter egos. After leading us on a tour of rooms that werenāt actually his, our friend introduced us to his āroommateā as āSpain andā¦Moscow.ā Iāll admit, it did take me a while to figure out why Paris was introduced as Spain, but eventually the link between the countries hit me (blame the lack of sleep, I swear!) But see, Moscow was only the name that Paris gave me in the spur of the moment, so it got me thinking about what my actual alter ego name would be. Iām not gonna lie, I get āOh, youāre nameās Rhianna, like the singer!ā all the time (and yeah, it is, but itās spelt differently,) so without taking on board just āRhiannaā I thought it was only right to have a name of another singer!
Ā So, itās my pleasure to officially introduce to you all our alter egos
Ā Spain and Adele (:
