Also called water bears and moss piglets, adult tardigrades are about 0.5 mm long and can survive everywhere in Earth's biosphere from volcanos to the deepest oceanic trenches and even in the vacuum of space. Specimens have been recorded surviving nearly ten years without water and can withstand 1,000 times more radiation than other animals.

Like bro, I want to be an astronaut too, but evolving to survive the vacuum of space seems like a less pressing concern than avoiding predation.
