NOVEMBER & DECEMBER ROUNDUP Lately, I've been thinking about all the amazing stories and legacies that've influenced who I want to be as a writer. I realized that I wanted to share the ones that I've loved most over the past month or so, and hopefully inspire others to share what inspired them! In no particular order, here are my November and December loves.

Forever In Between (18+) by @rebouks

Forever In Between has always been one of my favorite stories on tumblr, and it's usually what I read through to get myself back in gear and inspired to write! Becca puts so much love and passion into each line-- every character is rich with humanity-- it's hard not to get swept away.

WARWICK: Chapter III (16+) by @warwickroyals

Ayanna is truly a master in storytelling, and showcases her work through the sims in a way I'd never thought possible. Reading her posts is like stepping into a film. I can't recommend it enough, especially if you love devouring stories the same way I do!

Questioning: Identity by @lotuso3o

As part of Lotus' sixth gen in their whimsy stories legacy, they crafted this gorgeous post about Mariah's gender identity. I am a huge lover of any editing style that exudes warmth, and this one wrapped me up in a cozy blanket. Lotus' post is absolute perfection, it could be its own short story.

9. Are there cultural or lore specific aspects to their identity? If applicable, does their species affect it?

Most of the relevant worldbuilding exists solely in the depths of my DM's with @nexility-sims, but the Armorican economy was, for many years, based off fishing and whaling, the latter of which could keep men at sea and away from home for years at a time. Because of this, Armorican women were permitted to remarry if they could make a reasonable case for their husbands having drowned or otherwise been lost at sea (which sometimes resulted in accidental bigamy, if a "drowned" husband turned up alive and well) but I imagine that many women would instead simply turn to one another instead for companionship and support. I don't think Armorica would have had anything like gay marriage or specific social roles for queer folks, but there must have been some poets and writers who emerged from that cultural context to write about love between women, and I'm sure those cultural references are important to Roz!

10. Does your oc celebrate Pride? How?

Yes, she attends whichever pride festival has the most cops and corporate sponsors.

11. Is your oc open about their identity? Are they more lowkey or more blunt about it? Why or why not?

Rosalind is an out lesbian and has been since....2011 or 2014, I think? (it's in my notes somewhere.) Being the first openly gay member of the royal family definitely attracted a lot of attention (and likely would have been notable internationally, given the relative paucity of queer romance on royal simblr as a whole fjfjfj) but I don't think she's someone whose sexual orientation is at the forefront of their self-identity. She's gay, but she's also a princess which is SO much more important.

14. do you draw any inspirations from other simblrs?

I think it's inevitable to draw inspiration from other people. As humans, and especially as artists, we can't see someone else's work and not think "oh wow, that's lovely. What if I tried doing X or Y?" The problem for me is that I have a really hard time pinpointing my inspirations, because for me the inspiration is a very subconscious thing. Also, most of my favorite edit-makers make edits that are much, more more complex than anything I make. But, some of my favorite edit-making simblrs are: @omgkayplays @potionio @goldenwaves @barbieaiden @literalite @panicsimss (But if you look at their edits, you can see that mine aren't very similar, lmao.)

15. do you have a specific sim you edit the most?

It's definitely Fallon. Which makes sense, because she is my baby, my most beloved sim, and the star of my story.

16. do you have a specific setting you edit the most?

Looking at my edit tag, by far the winner is a plain black background (mostly CAS edits, but some like my most recent one are in-game). But outside of CAS, it's most definitely flower fields, lmao. I love my sims standing in or in front of flowers. I have no idea why, it's just fun to do.

Shon Gableton [SNN]: Absolutely! Her Majesty is just starting to show, and by our calculations is around three months pregnant! Although still in mourning, Her Majesty broke from tradition to wear a yellow Somerville Coat Dress and Hat by @warwickroyals​. The royal stylist is showcasing Queen Katherine’s transition from princess to a confident, savvy sovereign, and bold colors help!

Shon Gableton [SNN]: “Not to out-do her attire, Her Majesty also wore the Diamond Star of Brindleton Brooch by @batsfromwesteros​.”

Cameron Dorly [SNN]: “Wasn't that commissioned by Albert II in 1849, as a gift to his wife, Adaline?”

Shon Gableton [SNN]: “Correct! It’s an old piece, and is absolutely lovely and classic, and the fact that it’s an all-diamond piece means that it can be coordinated with a large number of outfits.”

Shon Gableton [SNN]: I’m getting a sense that the Queen has a fondness for Brindleton Bay, also. This is the second time Her Majesty has worn a brooch titled after the commonwealth.”

Cameron Dorly [SNN]: Yes, during her Accession speech last month, the new Queen wore the Duchess of Brindleton Bay Pearl Brooch. Her Majesty also wore the piece last April, as then Duchess of Brindleton Bay, in the official portrait marking George I’s 31 years on the throne.

Shon Gableton [SNN]: Okay, enough about Her Majesty’s fashion, let’s talk about her first royal engagement as sovereign; attending a national service of thanksgiving! How fitting of a way to begin her reign.

Hey, Ayanna. Happy December to you as well. After careful consideration, I have determined my top 5 moments of 2022:

Eleanore and Ibrahim tying the knot on @theroyalsims. After a controversial first engagement between the couple back in Al Simahara, having had it called off, Ibrahim relinquishing his title and Eleanore's being stripped, they went through hell and back, and they finally got their forever I do's. I'm just glad Eleanore reconciled with (almost) all her family in the process.

Niamh and Sebastian from @houseofcameliard. After Niamh was abducted, held hostage, she was rescued by Sebastian. Well long story short, they became a couple and got married. I love those two.

Helena and Cora reconciling in @thegrimalldis. Cora, being the daughter of the late Prince Nicholas (we still miss you, bro!) and Eliza, After her father's death, Cora... well, processed her grief... not so healthily. should say. She ended up being stripped of her titles, and found out she was pregnant. After giving birth to Mere, Helena visited her in the hospital, and they reconciled.

Pandora standing up to Abraxas in @olympianroyals. First off, lemme just say that Abraxas is a complete jackass, and Callista is no better. In fact, I'd say she a snobbish prissy bitch. Any-hooty, back to this scene, Abraxas practically called Sweet Miss Panda, his own granddaughter, a teen whore for carrying her YOUNGER SISTER, Iris, with her after the girls' parents accident, questioning the toddler's paternity as if Pandora was a TEEN MOM!! Wtf.jpg, Abraxas?! Pandora told his dumbass off for that and stormed away. Needless to say, this guy is just a Grade A asshole, and I'm sorry that Pandora, Daphne, and Iris have a grandfather like this. Seriously, fuck him!

And my #1 moment is *drum roll, please*:

NICKY AND MINNIE'S ENGAGEMENT!!! I've been following the collaboration between @simsroyallegacy and @officalroyalsofpierreland since 2020, before I started my own story, but OMFG, I'm so excited to see what the future holds for this couple!!! Well done, you two! And congrats, Nicholas and Minerva!!!!

Honorable Mentions:

From my own story - My gothy hidden princess, Susanna finally giving birth to Linnea. After some distress during the pregnancy and Ekant's near-tragic accident, Linnea was in the breach position and so Sue had to have a c-section, but thankfully, Nea was born without any further complications.

And, Kaya and Michael's Wedding. This wedding, like all mass-collab events, was a bitch to put together, but in the end, it was amazing! Michael is a really good man for Kaya, and he's a good adoptive father to her two kids.

OMG, I've been thinking about this question for... literally 20 days. I'm super indecisive about these things, so I've decided to answer in a slightly different way. I don't like to talk much about myself and having started in August (omg, 4 months now and I don't even know what I've done with my life in this time) doesn't leave me much room to choose between my posts. So let's not talk about me. And let's not talk about posts.

My favorite thing this year has been entering such a beautiful, welcoming and loving community. At least with me it has always been like that. Although she no longer publishes (for the moment, I really wish she comes back), I need to mention Daria (@thedevilliers), since it was thanks to her that I discovered this little world within simblr and it was the push I needed to start my story. If you read this, thank you for your inspiration.

In these months, it has been very helpful for me to have discovered the Discord server, being part of a small community with which to talk about the things that I like the most (and sometimes discuss a little about some things that we like less). It has been a lot of fun being able to talk to all of you these months, I hope 2023 continues the same. Here, I want to mention @funkyllama, who besides being the first to offer me a collaboration and teach me how to do it, you helped me a lot and you were the one who encouraged me to join. Thanks from my heart.

Lastly, I want to highlight several more little people in this community, either because I discovered their stories this year after joining or because I more or less connected with them. You are all incredible artists, you have enormous talent and I am proud to share space with you. And one last thing, cheers to me for being able to stand firm in the things that I like and move forward with this. I have learned new ways of writing, editing and exploring a creativity that had been dead for a long time. So here's to a 2023 filled with more drama and the weekly pop culture reference.

Sorry, it's taken me a bit to answer this. There have been notable moments in weddings over the years, both on and off-screen.

When Queen Camille attended Crown Prince Alina's Wedding. Meer days after waking up from a coma that lasted over 7 months.

Crown Princess Alina's Lace wedding look, covered in head-to-toe lace. It was iconic and absolutely drop-dead gorgeous.

The tiara Florentia wore on her wedding day. It hadn't been worn by a Crimson bride since Princess Giorgia's wedding day. More than 9 generations ago. It's called the Nuptial Tiara, yet it sat collecting dust.
