i'm gonna be real the random criticism i saw saying that warriors 2024 doesn't "have enough violence" is bothering me so much because the entire conceit of the narrative is inherently violent. it's literally just how about a group of girls can't walk through a city at night without it being an inherently violent experience, even if they seemingly have any power over the streets. the original movie got criticized for being too cartoonishly violent (which is also rich in itself) but when you realize that the story as it exists in the soundtrack is more or less about a group of girls trying to make it home alive as the story's entire conflict and goal, and how that its narrative is a metaphor of the violence that single experience brings, and complain that there's not enough of that violence - then you're missing the point of the remake entirely

have mothwing and brambleclaw ever acknowledged each other as siblings even one time. or mothwing and tawnypelt for that matter. does mothwing even remember she’s a tigerclone. why does this literally never come up

superedition/novella retcons piss me OFFFFFF like the whole point of characters like brokenstar and tigerclaw is to show what ANYONE can be capable of. we actually had a really interesting background for tigerclaw at first in bluestar’s prophecy, with his father bringing shame on him from his peers and being groomed into xenophobia by his mentor. i liked that. but then pinestar’s choice completely ruins that by making him this prophesied evil and inherently corrupted from birth. ditto with brokenstar in yellowfang’s secret. even raggedstar to an extent — when he’s mentioned in tpb he’s described as a fair, even-tempered leader who had the respect of his clan. the raggedpelt/star we see in yellowfang’s secret is controlling and angry, power-hungry, building a cabinet entirely on nepotism. i just…… it all comes back to starclan being way too directly involved with the living clans’ affairs in anything published past like. tnp honestly. these books could be so good if they were good. this post is incomprehensible to almost all of my mutuals. did anyone even read this far. what if god was one of us
