ARE YOU STAYING HOME FROM WORK/SCHOOL? I’m doing some long neglected bookkeeping work at home for my boss, for which he’s paying me my usual wage and a bonus, although I’m definitely not getting my usual hours.
IF YOU’RE STAYING HOME, WHO IS THERE WITH YOU? My girlfriend lives with me, but she’s a nurse in a local hospital, so apart from the insanely long hours she works (12 hour shifts), she’s sleeping in the spare room for now, and we’re keeping our physical distance in order to protect me from possibly being infected with COVID-19, since I have asthma and a couple of other underlying conditions. It’s really hard, we’re kind of like ships passing in the night right now. My brother also lives here, but he’s an “essential worker” (he works at an auto parts store), so he’s still working too.
ARE YOU A HOMEBODY? Oh god yes. There’s nothing I love more than staying home. Crowds give me anxiety and for socializing I prefer very small groups or one on one interactions.
AN EVENT THAT YOU WERE LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT GOT CANCELLED? Not really, lol. See above. Me and my girlfriend were planning to take a little road trip to the mountains for my birthday, but that’s in June, so we’re not sure if we’ll have to cancel that or not. Probably.
WHAT MOVIES HAVE YOU WATCHED RECENTLY? I don’t love movies, just because a lot of them are really plot driven and I prefer character driven media. A couple days ago I rewatched Love & Friendship which is based on an early novella by Jane Austen.
WHAT SHOWS ARE YOU WATCHING? I’ve been mainly rewatching old favorites, like The Mentalist, House, The Golden Girls, etc.
WHAT MUSIC ARE YOU LISTENING TO? My Current Jams playlist on Spotify. I listen to random songs, not whole albums, so it’s a mix.
WHAT ARE YOU READING? Right now, I’m reading a book I read in middle school, Remember Me, by Christopher Pike. It’s basically about a high school girl who gets murdered at a party and then she tries to solve her own murder as a ghost. It holds up pretty well, actually.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR SELF-CARE? Basically all of the above. Reading, watching TV, drinking lots of water and tea, trying to get dressed every day even though I have nowhere to go, lol. I’m super lonely right now, because of the above situation with my girlfriend, so I try to video chat with her every day while she’s on her lunch break and stuff. I mean we still talk when she’s home too, but I miss like physical affection and stuff so it’s difficult.
