More D&D characters!!!
I made a child warlock (inspired by Arya Stark) and designed her patron to be a sort of mashup of Snatcher, King Dots and Beetlejuice, because once I like an idea it’s literally all I can think about and I have zero control over what inspires me.
Long story short, Rhea’s family was murdered by the BBEG after her father refused a demand offer to work for him. Rhea only barely escaped with her life. Now an orphan who had lost everything, Rhea quickly formed a desperate need for vengeance and the fury and hate to do anything to see that vengeance enacted.
Enter, the Wraith.
An unusually powerful wraith in his own right, that gains his power by feeding on souls. To ensure he always has a steady supply of souls, he lends out his power to mortals in binding contracts. A contracted individual might pay with their own soul, or the soul of another, but regardless, souls must be paid to the Wraith in return for a taste of his power.
However, not everyone is so keen to pay up when the time comes. Which is a problem when you’re a powerful, undead, demi-god, who cannot leave the forest he died in. So, instead of his usual bargain, when Rhea washes up on the shore at the edge of his forest, he offers the little assasin-in-the-making a very special contract. Not her own soul atleastnotinwriting, but a series of obligations is her expected payment. All the kid need do, is go out on her bloodthirsty little quest and murder a few of his past contractors who have tried to reneg on their end of the deal. Just collect and bring back their souls and he’ll call it even. Bonus points for bringing any extras!
