sedona "sid" elena kozlov-jones entered their lives at the age of 12. her situation posed a unique set of challenges to those of the more protocol-oriented mindsets; she'd seen something that put her in a very dangerous position, wanted either dead by one group, or manipulated into revealing what she'd witnessed by another. enter illyana and aisling. a sympathetic figure smuggled the girl out of the government-ordered safehouse, and met them at a secret rendezvous point, where he delivered her to her new guardians with their natural guarantee to protect her at all costs. so, that sweltering july night, at a cramped diner in sedona, arizona, illyana and aisling unexpectedly became mothers to a frightened and defiant young girl who needed them just as much as they'd come to need her.
so let me tell you a little more about sedona! she's very much the coolest girl in any school, without being mean in the process. she loves to swim, though prefers outdoor pools as opposed to oceans, and runs a very famous ti.ktok account. she enjoys yoga, is fluent in nine different languages, and is very careful about how she presents herself in the world. she loves her siblings, and enjoys bringing them to various parts of the city, though her love for arcades and fairs often leads those choices. she loves iced coffees but hates iced teas, she has a car that's constantly being cleaned in a ritual that no crisis is powerful enough to shake, and will only go to the gym if she's with a minimum of two friends.
that last part is a combination of childhood-stemming paranoia and an eagerness to be more like illyana. that aspiration drove many of her hobbies and achievements growing up; gaining a native level of french, italian, spanish, portuguese, russian and mandarin, archery and knife-throwing lessons, learning basic hacking skills from eli. it's not fair to say she has a favorite parent. it's not true, at any rate. but if she had to choose which mother to reflect most, it'd be illyana. however, she's picked up quite a few skills from aisling along the way. first-aid through the diner, cooking, body language. she knows that sometimes, the carrot is needed before the stick, and vice versa. she also knows that much like her mothers, nobody really has much control over the hand that life deals them. but they can choose how to utilize it to their advantage; much like how aisling and illyana have taught her.
