I feel like most people (read: Marvel writers) kind of overlook the whole “she is fully cognizant of having been miscarried, abandoned, and isolated for forty+ years and that’s why she’s so incredibly jealous and resentful towards her brother, who got to live in his own body, experience the world, and be loved” basis of Cassandra Nova’s entire deal. like in New X-Men Jean comes right out and says she’s lonely and sad and pitiful.

“if Cassandra Nova defeated Charles Xavier in the womb she’d become an evil dictator” is a premise that, to me, fails to account for how the mummudrai psyche would be affected by having a traumatic childhood and a shitty stepdad. like, I’m not saying she’d be better, I’m saying maybe she’d suck in different ways.
