Nic Cage as Superman. I remember hearing about this at University and thinking, “That’s a bogus story. That’s a bogus story if ever I’ve heard one.” I had heard stuff like that before, like during pre-production of Batman Returns: Robert De Niro was going to play Two-Face, Robin Williams was going to play The Riddler. And Madonna—she had already been cast as Catwoman. There were always fanciful rumors like that floating around, I laughed it away.
