🤡 😈 Hope it's not cheating to ask for two.
Definitely not cheating haha
"What's a line, scene, or exchange you've written that made you laugh?"
Had to think back a bit for this one, since it's been a lot of nonstop serious stuff for a while now. In Chapter 18 of Year 2, there's a scene where Ahsoka sneaks into 79's with Echo and Fives' help. Wolffe decides he's not having this and has Sinker and Boost drag her - kicking and screaming - outside. I always loved his "take her away, boys" line.
"Has there been a point in a story where you did something just to be playfully mean to your readers?"
100%. It's never just to be mean, though. Don't get me wrong, I love causing a little emotional turmoil in the reader, but only when it makes sense to do so in the context of the plot. Otherwise, it's just pointless tragedy for drama's sake. Aside from killing characters, I think I can point to the two times Rex and Ahsoka's friendship was unstable. When Rex wanted to cut off the Force Bond after first discovering it, and when he and Ahsoka were at odds with each other emotionally before and during Onderon. Both made for some great angst (lol). I didn't have to write it that way, but it made sense for each of them to not like what the other was doing at those times, so I put them against each other just to create tension and stress. But it was for a good cause.
