I’m always looking for an excuse to get iddy! And then this. “The moderators are fully supportive of kink and do not condone purity culture or censorship. Hate to break it to you, mods, but what you’re doing is exactly condoning purity culture and censorship. So my question regarding the restrictions is: why even run a fandom kink event, in the Supernatural fandom in this, the year of our lord 2022, and disallow not only one of the major ships, but canoodling with unliving bodies (which likely includes just about every vessel and meatsuit an angel or demon has commandeered)? If a mod is squeamish, hey, I get it. I’ve run a ton of events and I don’t groove on everything that’s submitted. People are complicated and sometimes pretty damaged critters, and that’s a heart-breaker. Which is why we require tags for filtering, or get different mods to shepherd those fics that might be an issue for someone. There are plenty of solutions that don’t involve banning some pretty ridiculously common SPN fandom stuff. There seems to be ulterior motives at work here...  🤔 

On the one hand: It’s a Destiel shirt. Dean and Cas are on it together--which we don’t get very often, if at all. it was advertised as “destiel”. Even with the “retcon”, it’s still a destiel shirt. And I feel returning it will just send the wrong message that we don’t want destiel merch (which isn’t true).

On the other hand: I don’t want to feel like I’m supporting the BS Hot Topic pulled. I do feel manipulated and conned that they kept it up long enough (4 Days) to make bank, and then changed it and are now claiming “it wasn’t their intention”. 

The reason Jibcon has been (is) so special and appreciated through the years by so many of us has to do with other panels than J2 have been presented. All year round Creation spits out cons like candy and at every one of those we get 2 J2 panels. 2 at EVERY con, and it’s the same questions the same old same old over and over again. Misha some years back joined them for a few minutes in the main panel and we got all 3 of them goofing off.. This has stopped completely and I do not know the circumstances around this but can guess SIGHS..

At Jibcon we get the rare opportunity to have a Misha/Jared panel, a J2M panel and a Jensen/Misha panel. Many of us have written Creation BEGGING for panels like this bc we LOVE our boys ALL of them and we LOVE seeing them in different constellations. We got a Misha/Jensen panel at Honcon this year bc of the YANA campaign. That was an exception. Also the UK J2M I do not know if creation is responsible for this con?? Regardless 2 very rare things happened.

ONCE a year we get an opportunity to watch our faves (and we have different faves which is fine to have) interact in a different setting. And let me make this ABUNDANTLY CLEAR to all who screams: “you only care about your ships”…….

That NO we actually do NOT.. We care that ONCE a year we get VARIATION in the panel setups that ONLY happens in one place JIB.  Jib was (Is still???) popular bc of this.

At Jib we get to see Misha and Jared goof of like two buffoons which brings us all so much joy the same with Jensen and Misha.. And when all three of them are together you never know what will happen you can only be sure of one thing: beautiful chaos. These differences in setup is what has been (is) so popular about Jib..  It also helps tremendously to see how much fun the boys have in these different constellations. You can tell they really enjoy themselves and are happy about being there!!

Last year Misha/Jensen panel were cut short for whatever reasons. And this year it was completely erased. The other panels have been honoured but this one has for two years in a row taken hits, so to see people upset about this is quite natural to be honest. This is a panel that is happening ONCE a year it’s a unique and RARE event to see two of our faves have fun and goof by themselves.. Just like we some minutes?hours? before had seen two other faves (mishalecki) being allowed to do. And being disappointed about missing out on this is more than fine and is in no way hate on Jared. Please people understand this now!!!

I hope that next Jibcon is back to ALL panels get their time in the limelight as they are advertised (as before spiteful individuals bombared Daniela and Co with demands and shit pushing her so much that she felt the need to rant on FB and somewhere make the decision to take away the Jenmish panel all together.)

We all deserve to see our faves at least ONCE a year get some ALONE GOOF TIME  together whether it be Mishalecki and/or JenMish.

This year a bunch of Misha haters sat out to exclude Misha by clogging up the question lines and only ask J2 questions. They came to JIB with the intention of ruining the con for the “destihellers”. Thank you for your kind words; they do mean a lot to me. That anon is clearly very unhappy with their life, and I fear, honestly, that they may be in a similar situation and don’t like the fact that I am slapping truth bombs onto them, otherwise why come at me so harshly – TWICE – when I replied that emotional abuse is very real. I know that it would piss me off, anyway. I really do feel sorry for them. 

And don’t feel bad about my personal situation. I am not very open about my personal life unless I need to make a personal anecdote to help prove a point. The first time I did mention it was in the read-more of this post here, and I have kept mostly quiet about it ever since, because I want my blog to be my happy place, and because I didn’t want this EXACT THING to happen – people accusing me of being biased about Mary – and not tainted with the stink of my mother’s betrayal. I am moving on with that chapter in my life, but I also find that using her is an effective way for people to see that they, too, are being manipulated by people they love. It’s a lot easier for it to be dismissed when it’s a parent, and I only wish to raise awareness for it.

I am actually much happier now; the past does attempt to rear its head from time to time, but my dad’s family are amazing and have essentially been my rocks.
