âMy father had a better sense of style,â Sigyn whispered back with a small shake of her head. âAnd his aesthetic was entirely molten steel and soot.â She fell silent when one of their insectoid captors hissed and raised its weapon in warning, and squared her shoulders. She felt her sonâs hand on the back of her shoulder, and forced herself to relax as they were marched to the end of the hallway, and through a large, hexagonal sliding door.
Beyond the door stretched a large, round room, with the far side dominated by tall, trapezoidal windows that overlooked the colorful city. A crowd of guests - dressed in masks and fashions that ranged from âtrendyâ to âchicâ - turned to stare at the newcomers being marched between their ranks. Beyond them, upon a shallow dias, and seated on a sleek blue and white chair, was a tall, greying man with a blue stripe down his lip and chin.
âWelcome, welcome!â The man animatedly threw his hands up in the air. âScrapper-697 and...and...â He paused, mid-gesture and the stocky woman standing beside him leaned in to whisper something in his ear. âScrapper-832! Yes!â With no lost enthusiasm, the strange man clapped his hands together in anticipation. âWhat have you brought for us today, hm?â
One of the aliens said something in itâs guttural language, and nudged Tyrâs shoulder with their weapon, forcing him to step forward. Sigyn reflexively reached for her missing sword once more, and Theoricâs hand snapped out around the barrel of the blaster. The other alien leveled its weapon at his head, but he man in the chair merely clicked his tongue chastisingly.
âNow, now, thereâs no need to get violent.â He leaned back to whisper to the stocky woman by his side, and she moved behind his chair and began pushing it forward. âLetâs put down the guns - come on, come on! Put them down~â The aliens slowly lowered their blasters, and Theoric let go of the one heâd grabbed.
âTheeeere we go!â The man laughed, as if among old friends, and rose from his chair to stand before the captured four. âSo! Since Scrapper-697 and Scrapper-832 have a tough time with âmannersâ,â Here, he raised his hands and crooked two fingers on each, mimicking quotation marks. âAllow me to do the introducing. I....â The man paused for effect, and spread his arms out wide. âAm the Grandmaster! Ruler of Sakaar!â He grinned. âYouâre welcome~â
