The Humpty Dumpty Burger is heavy and tasty. It has a sunny-side-up egg on top, which makes it look like Humpty Dumpty is sitting on the wall. It's a tasty take on the usual burger and great for brunch or any time you want a filling meal.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 4 burger buns. 4 large eggs. 4 slices of cheddar cheese. 1/2 cup mayonnaise. 1/4 cup ketchup. 1/4 cup diced onions. 1/4 cup sliced pickles. Lettuce leaves. Tomato slices. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle over medium-high heat. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Season with salt and pepper. Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer to your desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and let it melt. While the burgers are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill until they're lightly browned. In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise and ketchup to create a special sauce. In a separate pan, fry the eggs to your liking usually sunny-side-up for Humpty Dumpty Burger. Assemble the burgers: Spread the special sauce on the bottom bun, add a lettuce leaf, a burger patty with melted cheese, a fried egg, tomato slices, diced onions, and sliced pickles. Top with the other half of the bun. Serve the Humpty Dumpty Burgers hot with your favorite sides.
