Even with recent events in the webcomic, I do believe Dina in Dumbing of Age is having a much more successful love life (and life in general, really) than Walkyverse Dina ever did.

The Dumbing of Age comment section has a problem where they keep expecting characters to act as vehicles for their own opinions and get shocked and angry when the characters actually have perspectives and opinions that actually line up with their characterization instead.
They got mad when Joe reacted to Joyce and Dorothy with empathy and understanding instead of a Le Epic Takedown. And now they're getting mad that Jocelyne is...happy that her younger sister is no longer repressing her queerness?
Jocelyne does not know Joe. She has no reason to care about him. From her perspective Joe is just Some Guy that Joyce has been seeing for, like, a few weeks at most. Like she said, those kinds of casual relationships are a dime-a-dozen in college. Her exposure to Dorothy, meanwhile, has been Dorothy almost exclusively acting in service of their shared political goals in opposition to the genocide of Bulmeria.
(Looking back at this plot point cause it’s hilarious)
So like… Dumbing of Age is a reimagining of the Walkyverse so Walky is technically correct here.

its old news at this point and the storylines over but im still reeling at how seemingly none of Dumbing Of Age's readers have talked up about how insanely insensitive it has to factor in a Very Special Episode about the Gazan genocide and then use it as a backdrop for lesbian romance at a protest.
