@wakingdrcams sent: He finds himself in Melissa's club. He could lie and say he doesn't know why, but nah, he knows damn well why he picked her: Because she wouldn't turn him away. They'd known each other years ago, high school sweethearts, living a teenage romance that moved quickly, from a soft first kiss in the arcade, just beside the Mortal Kombat cabinet, to fucking behind the bleachers while skipping class. Kelly's parents were pieces of shit, but at least they left their condoms on their nightstand.
(He remembers when too many of them had gone missing and his parents started accusing each other of cheating. He didn't correct them. Didn't care enough. He fucking hated them.)
It's easy to paint grief on his face before he steps inside. The rain outside had drenched his clothes, and his hair hung in loose, wet curls around his face. Melissa hadn't been easy to track down - she's pretty damn good at staying off the grid as needed - but he eventually found her and he knows this is her place. His lips tremble as he opens his mouth to ask for her.
"M-Melissa. Please. It's important. Tell her...tell her it's Kelly."
[ unscripted asks . always accepting ]
The look on the young girl's face that came looking for Melissa behind the bar was definitely unique - not much fazed the staff on a club like hers, used to dealing with all sorts of peculiar customers and their quirky requests. There was no room for false morality at a den of sin, after all - but the person at the door looked like a different sort of desperate, if reports were to be believed.
And not many asked for the owner - it wasn't exactly advertised anywhere, and the place was more well-known for the 'flowers' than their gardener anyway. Honeyed eyes moved from the papers littered with handwritten notes, squinting at the employee as if that made Melissa more certain of having heard the club's hostess correctly.
"Kelly?" the club owner repeated, folding herself over the counter to make conversation easier; the background music wasn't overbearing but it wasn't helping to jog the brunette's memory either. "I don't know any girl by that name."
"It's not a girl - it's a guy. Pretty sure he said it's Kelly, though," the hostess shrugged, moving some hair over a shoulder, "He looks desperate, Mel. Said it's important and asked for you by name. You want me to tell the guys to send him packing?"
Then it all dawned on her - Melissa had only known one guy with that name, and one with an important role in her life. It was curious how she still remembered it all so vividly - the brunette's professional career had led her away from the typical office thing and very much astray in the eyes of her family, but Kelly hadn't been the one to blame. No, life just happened to be twisted like that.
And perhaps for Kelly too, if his night was leading him to the doorstep of a stranger given how long it had been since they last saw each other.
"I'll go see him - here, take this back to the office and help Gemma," Melissa instructed the hostess, easily shifting gears and moving from her business persona to the hostess side that had been almost buried once she retired from active duty. With each step taken towards the entrance, the woman glanced at the countless mirrors to check her appearance - fixing a lock of hair, wiping away some invisible make-up smudge and smoothening her dress were all gestures performed mechanically, getting to the club's door and finding herself transported to the past in a second.
Fucking hell - Kelly Mehta was not only still alive, but looking like he had not aged by more than a couple of years.
"What happened to you?" the ex-hostess queried with genuine concern, stepping onto the pavement and getting hit by rain just long enough to pull him in, grabbing the unexpected visitor by his shirt and ignoring the questioning glance of the employee currently stationed there for security purposes, "You're drenched, Kelly. Are you hurt? Are you running from somebody?"
First things first, after all - once the real questions had been dealt with, maybe there would be time to reminisce about the people they had been once.
@wakingdrcams sent: Kaz has had a lot of time on his hands to learn a lot of things, including various crafts (building [bridges, houses, etc], fabricating [glass blowing, wood carving, hand sewing], ice fishing, among others), ballroom dancing, art, etc. He is also very well traveled, given that he travels where winter is, rarely choosing to leave wintered lands because he grows weak when he's away from it. However, he isn't very patient and will go for the things he wants. He knows that he can be temporary, even though he's immortal, and it makes him a little less patient than maybe he could or should be.
Are you Ruby's type? // @wakingdrcams ;;
What is impatience to an immmortal, when an entire year goes by in the blink of an eye? It still takes decades for Ruby to be into him physically, but she is fascinated by him regardless, and could sit in the snow and watch him work for hours on end and then smash.
@wakingdrcams // reilly and vikash // semi plotted feels
nervous fingers play with coffee stirrer resting in drink set before him, that ever wandering gaze flicking between the people passing on the sidewalk and the general direction of vik's school, hoping to see him within the crowd. he was late, very late, and reilly was beginning to lose hope that he was even going to show up. he contemplates leaving, sending him a text from the comfort of his own bedroom, but he stays, waits for him to get there so he can physically see how the other reacts to being late -- anger, resentment, and sadness swirling in the pit of his stomach as the rest of that jack and coke is downed for a new one.
reilly's brows pinch together, albeit briefly, with the kiss pressed against his cheek, attention turning towards the man he had been worrying over. where did he come from? lips twitch into a gentle, tired, smile, those worries washing away down the drain -- no longer concerned or upset, simply having forgotten why he was for the time being, arms coming up to rest on the table top as he leans into face the other man. "hey, you. where have you been?"
[ Decrypting New Transmission for @wakingdrcams ' Nijah ]
He probably looks a little psychotic as he stares away, unable to take another step towards the man that used to care for them so. It had been a while of... messy happenings he tries to use as justification for the fact that he didn't even try to contact the man until now – unlike his brother who just could not. No-ah likes to think that, despite his past – and present – distance, Nijah's past care for him will allow him to approach... Not only that, those memories were some kind of shaky proof that he used to be worth it.
He used to be good. There was worth in him, at some point. But now, what is he now?
The exhaustion is written across his face like a life sentence and the idea of approaching someone who used to be part of his life's highlights somehow makes him nauseous. He should've disappeared forever... But Nijah remained in his head, anyway. And No-ah inevitably found his way back here.
Maybe, he should leave. He still has time. Maybe he should save Nijah the trouble, but...
Step, step, step.
"You look busy," Is No-ah's attempt at starting this conversation. He doesn't make eye contact, he tries to become smaller against his oversized jacket. Was conversing with people harder now than it was before? He still felt like he shouldn't, like he couldn't. And Nijah was still blindingly bright, even by presence alone, despite appearances. "I meant to say... You look good and I want to repay you for–" his voice cuts and he decides he is done with the conversation. But he remains there, in front of him.

sender kills someone and the blood spatters on receiver (Kenzie to Danika, followed by a, "Sorry, babe," because she uses those kinds of names for people)
blood, blood, gallons of the stuff ! a collection of icky, bloody prompts for those who like to choose violence.
from the rushing blur of rotten flesh the blade cuts through with a smooth slice, the undead's lunge ceases just inches from her. its maw snapped back with clanking teeth, and in the same heartbeat, its skull ruptures. a warm spray of crimson bursts forth, spattering beads of red, bottom half of her features painted in a fresh sheen- thick drops clinging to her brow when she blinks. breath nearly glitched upon shock, though her gaze never left the twitching corpse collapsing at her feet. the copper tartness hits her nose instantly, cloying and metallic, while @wakingdrcams just stood there, chest heaving, weapon raised, unfazed by the mess she’d made.
sorry, babe.
❝ yes. . .❞ her jaw clenches from the woman's pomposity when she comes to, swiping nonchalant with a small annoyed pop of her eyes. ❝ maybe give better warning next time? . . . i just found these boots. ❞
@cybrvce / @wakingdrcams asked: "There you are, darlin'."
Uninterested and Visibly Uncomfortable
Stevie looked over at the man who was trying his damndest to woo her when Levi walked up. She quirks a brow slightly, but in the same beat as him speaking to her before she could reply properly, he wraps an arm around her waist and guides her away from the man at the bar.
Well, might as well sell it.
She glances over her shoulder for a moment before loosely wrapping an arm around his shoulders and saying, "Was wondering when you were gonna come back from the bathroom," loud enough for the other to hear, letting out a soft sigh as they make it out of sight of the other man, before she finally speaks:
"Thanks for that," she says, pulling her arm from his shoulders and stepping away from Levi, "Didn't think he was ever going to leave me alone," she adds, shaking her head a little before looking up at Levi, "You just passing through and just happen to notice us or....?"

It was long past time to make her usual rounds of the library. By the time she stepped out into the community garden, Ruby was almost grateful for the break. Einstein in his service animal vest followed at her heels as she moved to stand behind December and peer over the woman's shoulder.
"Those look lovely. They're..." A pause as Ruby rifled through her memory. She'd been making an effort to learn various flowers of late, though her skills were still lacking. "Azaelias?"
